I am a huge 6S fan and have been using the razor since March...hands down the most comfortable and efficient razor I've ever used.

I tend to prefer head heavy razors (progress was my daily for 4 years).

I pair up the 6S with a hefty 110g handle and love it!

Lately though, I'm using it more often with a Merkur top cap. The matte finish base plate with chrome top cap looks odd, however the shave is literally the smoothest and closest shaves I've had in my life!

I'd recommend you fellas give it a go if you have a Merkur top cap available.

I think setting 4 must be the jackpot setting. Setting 4 for me was bbs without trying after 3 passes and no cleanup pass. I'm trying to find a go to blade right now so I'm using setting 3 as a base.

I reckon that R4 plate is great for several days of growth.

Tabac AS... mmmmm ... great stuff!

Did you ever hear anything back about your plate?

Yeah i thought i updated about it. Gareth emailed me and said it wouldn't hurt anything but if i was concerned just to send him some pics so he could try and figure out why it's doing it (since with mim this shouldn't be happening) and he'd send me a replacement plate. I decided just to keep using it. It's not hurting anything. I also noticed though that the blades and everything are really tight when i use the 2/4 plate.

But hey, it's working fine so why fix it is the way I'm thinking. I can see where the cap posts are rubbing the plate and it's getting a very nice little polish to it on those little areas. Makes mine distinct. And now i got a second 6S I'm keeping new in the box (opened it and it doesn't have the problem with any of the plates that came with it). So yeah. I'm at ease and satisfied. Just trying different blades now on setting 3 to find my go to blade. Voskhod gave me 3 pass and cleanup to one area and left me bbs with barely a touch of razor burn. Same with Gillette Nacet, Astra SP, and Astra SS only they gave me a small touch of irritation (the SP being the worst of the russian blades I've tried). Wilkinson sword classics are out seeing as they gave me 3 weepers my first shave and 2 my second. Derby extra was 3 passes and no cleanup for BBS, so those are in the lead for me. Tried a Gillette wilkinson sword today that is very nice. Sunday I'll be trying either a GSB or Rapira swedish supersteel.

I'm on the hunt for my go to blade. Amazingly it's the cheaper blades that are giving me best results.

Go-to blade has always been a goal for me, albeit a difficult one. If you ask me today, the Voskhod is my go-to. It leaves me with least irritation and nicest looking skin, gives me a very pleasant shave and is very easy on the bank account.

Love it! Gotta try that Nacet blade some day.. it keeps popping up around the forums as a go-to blade.

Yeah. I've been buying 1-2 packs of blades at a time cuz i understand we can get bad blades. Trying to work my way through the dozen or so brands i got atm.

Someone told me to go through tryablade but i prefer buying a pack so that when i find ones i like i can hold onto them for my own use, and ones i don't like i pif to my friends I'm trying to get into wet shaving.

Pretty much my approach as well. I have never bought a "true" sample-pack, but I have bought way too many 100-piece packs too early.. lol

Excellent, I am glad it panned out. It is a fantastic razor.

I am not super blade fussy I guess, but the Nacet is one of a few that shines in any razor I put in it. I could very easily never use anything else.

Same with GSB, Polsilver and Voskhod.

I'm just looking for a blade that gets the job done efficiently, properly, without causing weepers, burn, or irritation. The nice part is discovering how all these different blades work so in the future i can recommend and even have an extra blade or two to give away to newer shavers with differing kinds of skin. I'm giving my astras another chance. Maybe i wasn't paying attention to them or was using to much pressure. I really want them to succeed because they are popular and readily available.

I still can't believe I'm getting so many great shaves out of one blade.
I still have 2 tucks of Ten blades each and 1 tuck with 9 in it. Going to get a WHOLE lot of great shaves out of em. Thanks Doug.

    I'm in...
4 shaves under my belt with the Rockwell 6S (I'm guessing V2 as I just got it a month ago).
It feels so good in my hand and gives such an effortless shave that is always so smooth. I've used it with four different blades and it was fantastic with all four. I think it's my favorite razor in my lineup.

Shave 4 (yesterday), Baseplate R3 with Gillette Silver Blue blade:
