Glad it is working out for you. It is a great razor.

I guess I should keep an eye on the Model T.
I'm going to buy one, just can't decide if to get on the pre-order or wait until they have the kinks worked out and buy in the future.

    Thought?

With Gareth's track record, you can be darn sure there won't be any "kinks" to work out. He went through that with his first razor and it almost bankrupted him. You can be sure he's checking and double checking everything, every step of the way.

Plus, with a couple hundred thousand more dollars to work with than originally planned for, there won't be any aspect of this thing that isn't 'cadillacked' from the get go.

I am surprised you hadn't jumped in on the kickstarter.

Something about having to feed the kids and fill the car once in a while...

    :D

Plus initially I wasn't much interested in it but as time goes I'm getting more and more into it.

I've got one preordered. I couldn't pass up the $79 early bird price. It doesn't stop me from thinking that it's ugly though. The Parker Varient is better looking (IMO) and almost half the price. I still think someone could make a better looking adjustable razor.

I think the Mergress has to be about the best looking modern adjustable. I wish there was a polished version of the 6s.

I pre-ordered the model T as well. I also picked up a Variant last month and it is a very nice looking razor and a wonderful shaver.
For years I used a Futur, which is definitely not ordinary looking.

I wonder (have no idea) how the injection molding of the Rockwells would look if you polished them. Would there be a lot of visible imperfections? Maybe it would need a chrome coating or something. O

You mean like the Rockwell 6C Chrome Series? Available in Chrome, Gunmetal, and Brushed Chrome?

They make a chromed SS model too?

I was just wondering how that molded SS would polish up.

    No. I missed that part.

Do you think the molded stainless is more suited to a bead blasted finish than a polish? I wonder if it would be rough.

Personally though, I like the coarse satin finish the way it is. To me it is a pretty industrial, workman like razor, not sure it would look as good polished anyway.

But I am a bad one to judge, as I mostly don't care for a high polish finish anyway.

The C series isn't stainless steel its chromed zink alloy. I think a polished stainless version would be tops!

Before anyone gets to excited about the model T, i found a flaw in it. If you go to youtube you can see the kickstarter video for it, and also a video for how to strip it apart for cleaning. Watch both but listen to the kickstarter video carefully. The tto rod and internals are zinc alloy. Yup on the most fragile pieces where steel, copper, brass, or aluminum could've been used they used a crappy zinc alloy, pot metal.

They changed that very early on, at the request of backers. It is all brass now.
