I decided to give the cold water shave a go and I decided to use my very first DE razor- the classic Schick Krona. And to be honest, it went way better than the previous three times I've used it. I used cold water this time and now I have no redness on my face. I have a little weeper on my upper lip. No, it's not that I used any pressure, I went light and rode the cap (the way you have to do it). I guess I cut myself a little bit because I was in a hurry. But other than that the shave went great. I'm for sure a huge fan of the Schick Krona now.

So, I just received my Schick Krona from Andrew @Linuxguile. I'll be auditioning blades for it starting Sunday

The Schick Krona is an amazing shaver. It gets far less love it than it deserves. Despite having slims, fatboys, old types, techs, etc. the Krona was my daily driver for decades until I got my Rockwell 6s. It's very efficient and very forgiving of poor technique. Everybody should own at LEAST one. :)

I have tried over the years to score a serviceable Krona for myself numerous times. I have three in my cabinet that I picked up over the years that were unusable. I even bought an NOS set to use, but ended up giving it to my brother to get him into wet shaving. (He wouldn't use any used razors). So I spotted this-

And shot the seller an offer, and now one is on its way to me. Finally I will have a useable Krona to shave with. I'm looking forward to it.

That is awesome! I see the seller has an entire case of NOS Kronas. It is tempting.

The Krona is a good shaver for sure, but I don't know that I would pay $77.00 for it.

I know I wouldn't pay $77 for one. I would for a case of them maybe. They would make great gifts.

The Krona, stoked with a Plus-Plat blade, just *might* become my all-time favorite. I love it more each time I use it.

I have a Krona on the counter loaded with an Astra SP. Good old razor.

:signs154:I'm waiting for an Eversharp Krona (gray, metal tip and eagle on end). Until it comes in, I'll go use my plastic tip late 60's Krona.

$77 makes me ill. :sick007: I hesitated on the Eversharp Krona at $14 including shipping. :think002: But glad I pulled the trigger. :D

77 seems high to me as well - but did you notice that he had _dozens_ of them? He must have found a case of them from a drugstore that went out of business (storage/warehouse selloff) .

I think I paid something like €10 for mine? Don't use it that much anymore, to be honest. But it is a fine razor.

    First shave with the Korona!(GSB)
    Very nice!
Shaves just like my Super Speed Black Tip!
A definite keeper. Now I can't wait to see how the other blades do.

I'm lovin' this razor! Smooth as glass. Can't wait to run some different blades through this baby. I might even try some that have been historically bad for me.
