Good call. It could be a riser box for their regular tool box.

For Fathers Day may family enabled my RAD with a new type a razor for my collection - A Rolls Razor Imperial No. 2 made in England. I cleaned it up earlier today and it looks great. I don't know much about Stropping and Honing blades so I don't know how to really judge when the blade is in good condition. I will need to get some mink oil and honing oil to prep the stone and leather, but this will hopefully be on the agenda for next weekend's shave!

BTW is there a way to date this razor? How does the guard work? It seems useless and somewhat uneven. I think I will remove for shaving. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like the guard is tweaked. It is easy enough to take off. The function of the guard is to protect the blade and has nothing to do with the shave. So the other stuff you should know is that the blade is probably not shave ready and you wont have any luck trying to make it so with the rolls system. Trust me. the blade needs honed properly. There is a thread around here somewhere that is all things rolls razor and has a ton of good info on the care and feeding of the rolls. Good news is with a sharp blade they do shave well but you need solid skills to avoid injury. Good luck!

Picked this up today as a resto project.

Thinking a maggard synthetic. But haven't decided, may put a mixed badger in it for a few bucks more.
