I just saw this fatboy on eBay. It is an auction, so I am not linking to it. Do you think it will clean up ok?

A little scrubbing bubbles and it will be good as new. seriously I would pass on that one.

That's the worst looking razor u have ever seen, but at the right price Everything has value. I'm not 100% sure it would clean up, but you could certainly clean it quite a bit and I'm guessing it would work again.

Or heck...send it to Delta echo razors for a good laugh.

I would so take a shot at restoring that, yes I would. There may be chunks of missing plating but I'll bet mechanically the thing would work fairly well because it's been encased and sealed under all that scale.

It's up to $18 now. The seller states that it was found underwater.

A little scrubbing bubbles and then lube it with rendered penguin fat and it'll probably work fine

I think in this case even rendered penguin fat would not make this dog hunt.

So long as it's organic, non-GMO penguin fat. :p

It's a disgusting chunk of corroded brass, trash it. It's not as if there aren't plenty of good condition vintage razors out there.

The plating is probably a write-off as it would potentially take some harsher chemicals to break down the scale. (I don't think hot water and Dawn alone is going to get us there.) I almost wonder if something like electrolytical rust removal might work.
