I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #119 brush. I did the two passes with the Schick E3 with custom handle and Personna Stainless blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I've been shaving for about a week now with a GEM 1912. What a sweet razor. It's so easy to maneuver and, with the right flat angle, it's as smooth as can be. Doesn't matter what soap, it's all good

Nice Shave, but wish it had a Handle like the one on Tom`s ER 1909 [ post above]

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick M adjustable injector
    Brush: Surrey two-band badger
    Lather: Stirling Dunshire
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dunshire aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Went with the Schick adjustable again today. Also stayed with setting 6. This razor works really well for me. I tend to stay around setting 6 and 7. One day I'll try 8. In any event, nice shave in the end.

    Have a great day!

Fantastic shave this morning! The MDC and Chatillon Lux pair well together and are both incredible products. I switched from the Kai blade to the Feather and saw an immediate difference. The Feather didn't tug and with three easy passes I'm BBS. I have 9 more blades from my sampler but I don't know how I'm going to top this Feather. Have a great day folks!

    Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
    Soap: Arko
Brush: Fan Shaped, Finest Badger Maseto Shaving (MS) 30mm (Lather Hog)
Razor: GEM OCMM (First Use by Me)
    Blade: Treet Blade (2nd/3rd shave)
Post-Shave: Thayers Witch Hazel, Rose Petal

Photo: I have yet to take a photo myself. This was the sellers photo when I bought the razor.
    GEM MicroMatic Open Comb.jpg

This mornings shave was the first for the OCMM. To try to minimize the variables I went with a known soap and brush. I like some Arko. The MS brush works great if you don't mind sharing your lather with the brush. It's a very dense knot. Some have compared it to Simpsons Chubby #3. I can't afford a Simpson brush but for under $50 USD I will wait the month it took to get the MS from China.

The razor proved a very good shave. A little irritation on my neck but this was the first shave and that is to be expected. What struck me was the audio feedback I got from this razor. It was like the noise on one of Fuzzy's videos. Finished the shave off with a little witch hazel to help with the irritation on the neck. All in all it was a DFS and I look forward to using the razor again. This is definitely going to be a razor in my rotation.

J.A. Henckels Rapide Hollow Ground SE
Italian Barber Amici soap and AS
    Surrey w/ TGN 3 band 24mm synthetic

Last night I shaved with my Henckels Rapide blade that Adam @Drygulch honed for me. This was by far the most comfortable shave I've had with a hollow ground SE blade. I still experienced some tugging in the mustache and goatee areas on the first pass, but I think I can attribute the roughness in those areas to trying to shave with too shallow of an angle. After 3 passes I was left with a SAS shave but wanted a little more so I did a full fourth pass with my RazoRock Baby Smooth. I also used my newly re-knotted Surrey brush that Jim @jimjo1031 did such a wonderful job on. Not only did he replace the knot but he also polished up the plastic, and I think it looks amazing! The fibers of this knot feel a lot like the fibers being used in the Simpson's synthetic, although the knot isn't nearly as dense as the Simpson's. After a 15 seconds load I was able to make a bowl full of lather and had plenty to spare. Have a great evening everyone!

    Brass General Head & S/S Handle + Feather Pro [ 2 ]
Wish I had tried this before, as I always felt uncomfortable with the original handle not slippy but not quite right for me.
Have used this handle with success on ER 1924, and is a winner with the general. So nice to hold, and was able to adjust the grip to the best effect when working on different areas.
The Shave was very enjoyable, with a great close all round close finish. Must try it with the Alu. Head.
