I love the Fatboy. I really do. It is a great shaver, and has the vintage panache that I love. Not to mention, it is durable! Heck, it is older than I am. Perfect handle length. And the thing feels like a shaving machine rather than a simple blade holder.

The Slim is as good. Better in many people's eyes. Were they were of equal value and availability, I wonder if the Fatboy would actually hold more sway than the Slim like it generally does. If the Slim's handle was as short as the Fatboy's it would be even better for me.

That brings us to the "lowly" Tech. It isn't adjustable. It's relatively inexpensive. But each and every time I throw one into the weekly shave rotation I realize I could be totally satisfied if this was my only razor. And durability? The simple design screams out "I will last several lifetimes over!". No adjustable mechanism to malfunction, after all. This Bakelite handle'd Tech is a dream. No frills, just a smooth, effective shave every time.

But it's nice to have variety - the spice of life and all that...

I only have four, one I barely use. One is probably going to my dad. One more on the way. So I'll have three that I'll actually use. You people are nuts.

Stick around here long enough and you too will fall in the rabbit hole. The AD is very contagious around here.

I am at about 80 now and I got that tech just a few months back. It is a fine shaver. I like them all.

I'm not convinced the the adjustables are all that great but the Tech is a different story.

Trying to hold the line at around 50.

IMHO, Techs get diminished because they were always inexpensive and plentiful. Pre-War, Fat-handled, Ball-End, NDC, Dated...doesn't seem to matter, I like them all!

If a Chinese copy of a Gillette TECH is any indication of how well they shave, I can fully vouch for the OP's assertion.
I have a Remei that I acquired a few years ago from China for less than $4. Just started using it earlier this year.
It is a very solid 3-piece DE razor with a mild personality, and a very good shave tool.
I got a great 3 pass BBS shave from this razor today, and have come to appreciate it's capabilities.

Of the Techs the pre war are my favorite. Flares are second then Fat Boys. I hover at about 20 razors.

I've been waiting to use my PreWar Tech. I had a cut that needed to heal on my head. Can you say NOS ? ;).

I really like using my slim and fatboy and find them to be excellent shavers. I picked up a c-4 tech with the ball end handle about a year ago. With all the talk about how mild it is, I didn't bother using it till recently. I love that razor! The tech is simple, but effective! I get smooth and comfortable shaves every time with the tech. It's a keeper!
