@Morman Bridge posted some pictures of his Schick looking for information on what kind it was. I believed we settled on it being a G type.

I noticed that the handle was busted and offered to make him a wooden one since I have made a few of those before. My Dad had made one for his old E3 many years ago, and it inspired me to do the same for my E3 when its handle disintegrated. I had a piece of birdseye maple left over from a previous project and that is what I used for this handle.

I have a drum sander on my 1/2 drill attached to a small "horse" that I use to shape handles with.

After some work this is what I ended up with. I used my old E3 for the following pictures.

I decided that I would do something new for me. I went for the traditional look for the handle. After some further shaping and sanding, this is what I got.

Next, I finished it with polyurethane satin finish.

Alan is sending me his old razor, and I will clean it up and put this new handle on it. It should be good to go for many shaves to come.

Hi everyone, I am truly honored to be the recipient of this work of art. It may seem like just a block of wood to some people, but not to me. Jims efforts and abilitys have shown me there is hope for humanity. I pretty much mostly lost a lot of hope for mankind, with all the politics, division, desparity, corruption, hatred, and downright skullduggery going on in the world today, it is hard to find the good things. But there are still a few good folks out there. Thank You Jim, for not only restoring my razor, but also for restoring my hope. To many, it probably seems like I'm being dramatic, but you folks just don't know my story. Where I have been, and what I have experienced. But all this aside, you have done a good thing for me Jim, and I appreciate it. Thank You.

I'm truly happy for you! Jim is a talented craftsman. I'm very pleased to have one of his brushes (and hope to adopt more). Just using this brush puts a smile on my face. When you have an item he's made, it's a one of a kind. Nobody has another exactly like it. Enjoy your razor & new handle! Hopefully it'll bring you a lifetime of great shaves!

Today I finished the handle with its third coat of polyurethane. Here are some pictures with my old E3 head on it. Alan has shipped off the original razor, and when it gets here, I will get it cleaned up and installed on this handle.
