The Schick Krona arrived and appears to be in great shape! Once my Personna Israeli Reds arrive I will give it a try.

How do you know it's a '66. How do you fine the date on it?

There is one thread here on dating Krona's. Schick apparently did not use a dating system like Gillette. Mine has a silver TTO knob that indicates it may be from '66.

I have a Schick Eversharp Krona (gray handle eagle on handle), but unsure of the date. :signs002:

Feels much heavier than a standard Krona I've had.

Mine has "SCHICK" superimposed over a triangle on the base of the TTO knob

Mine has a a triangle as well and when looking at the underside of the head with numbers right side up, the number 1 is in top left corner, 2 is in the top right corner, the letter M is in the bottom left corner and the number 5 is in the bottom right corner

Your's is probably from 1966 from the following info that I've found:

One way to look at the available evidence[4] is:
    • ca. 1964-65: original design with short metal knob, two-ply center bar, labelled with code M-5 and "Made in U.S.A" plus either a "SCHICK" or a triangle logo, blank doors, approximate weight 55-g.
    • ca. 1966: design revised with long metal knob, two-ply center bar, often labelled with code 6-M, "3-2" or "4-2", and "Made in U.S.A" plus either a "SCHICK" or a triangle logo, blank doors, approximate weight 50-g.
    • ca. 1966: as above, but grey instead of black and branded EVERSHARP with eagle logo.
    • ca. 1967-68: design revised for 1967 patents, plastic knob, one-ply center bar, often labelled with code 1-M, "PATENTS PENDING", doors stamped "Schick - Schick" or "Schick - Krona" or "Schick - (blank)", approximate weight 38-g.
    • ca. 1968-76 or later: plastic knob, one-ply center bar, various codes, doors stamped "Schick - Schick" or "Schick - Krona" or "Schick - (blank)", approximate weight 38-g.

After some research I discovered schick first patented the Krona in 1964 under the Eversharp Krona with the eagle on the end.

I was thinking of getting one of two strops as I like the look of both of them. I usually use my arm but I really like the look of these two and they are handmade and don't make ridiculous blade life extension claims like some other companies. The first one is the Hone Alone ( https://honealone.com/shop/hone-alone-razor-sharpening-block/ )which is handmade in the USA and uses a strip of rubber on top of a plywood block. The other, the Eureka razor blade sharpener, is a German made strop that is made of beechwood with leather set into it. I was just wondering if rubber or leather would be the better option for the stropping strip?
