Found today in the wild, 1930 New Big Boy Chromium De Luxe. As a added bonus, the blade bank was full. It contained 7 Blue Blades and 7 Kro-Man blades. All are unwrapped in good condition. Never saw Kro-Man blades before. Some google-fu told me they are quite rare. Looking for some info on the blades so I can treat them with respect they deserve.
Very cool! I have been saving/collecting blades since I started collecting razors. I don't even have any of those. I've seen them in photos, but haven't come across any yet. Thanks for sharing this. Congrats on the Big Boy, and the blades!
I try to be gentle. I did not think anything was special about the find. I never saw these blades before, did some research and said " holy crap on a cracker". Everything I looked at said rare and uncommon.
Thank you gentlemen This simple wild find is getting interesting. It has been brought to my attention by that the bottom handle had no rings. Google-fu showed my lots of Big Boy/Fellows but every one has two rings. Can not find any without rings. The big question, is this razor a rare bird or did it just get thru quality control? Any other ideas?
I see it now in the blow up of the photo. Made in USA. Does it have a serial number? I think this one is a very early one.
After doing some investigation in my Krumholz book and with a magnifying glass, I can make out: "JAN 13 1920" on the handle.
