Thanks wchnu. I saw one of your videos with you using the G-bar. Since then, I have been outbid on a couple auctions. But, I do have a featherweight on the way. Hopefully, they will be similar enough to let me get a good idea of what Gems are all about. I've never used a GEM before, so I will post my results after the first shave.

The featherweight is a fine introduction. There are also featherweight videos on my channel. Looking forward to what you think. What blades are you going to use??

The auction I won will come with a dispenser of "PAL" blades. I will use them, but if they are dull from decades of humidity, I will get some GEM blades from Andrew's Shave Shop.

My guess is those NOS pals will suck. Will be fun to see. Using Andrew's @Linuxguile shop is a great idea.

    Vitos Super Red
    PAL Injecto-Matic de luxe
    Schick Proline [ 4 ]
    Tuff Red A/S Lotion

After using an E2 yesterday I took out an Injecto-Matic also loaded with a Proline Blade. I think the E2 is more aggressive as the PAL with this blade is a very smooth and forgiving Razor, calmed down from when used with a Chick. It is hard to decide which comes on top, maybe get a better finish on the cheeks with the E2, but the PAL is better around the chin and neck - so perhaps a draw.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Fine Snake Bite Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #268 synthetic brush. The Snake Bite is well mentholated, and I highly recommend it if you like the chill. I did two passes with the Gem Flying Wing Razor using a Pal CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I have finally got my Shave Den back. The only thing left to be done in the bathroom remodel is add some base board around the cabinet that is my Shave Den. For todays shave I pulled out some supplies that have been packed up for the past two and a half months. These remodels are never done in the time you initially think they will take.

Did a three pass shave that left me cool and BBS.

My Gem featherweight arrived on Saturday and I took it out for a spin this morning. It was a very nice and efficient two pass shave.

The light weight of this razor makes for a different experience when compared to my other heavier SEs. This is a great addition to my den!

    wchnu Duck Season!

Did not get this posted last night. The old formula cream from The Body Shop was great with the TOST LE. As always I loved the shave from the 1902 Kampfe/Star with a fresh Treet. Finished everything off with Special Reserve.

On the road with one of my favorite travel razors. The C3 never fails to deliver a long lasting super smooth and close shave. One of the best shaves you can get. :happy036:

I was ready to write off the N as too mild, glad I tried it with a cut down Feather pro! Smooth 2 pass DFS from my discolored example, this will probably get a handle paint job at some point. [IMG]

The N will take a Schick Proline Type B, but it is best with a Twin Blade.

    Omega 11137 boar
    Lea Classic soap
    Schick Type I1
    Schick Twin [ 10-Japan ]
    Lea Classic A/S Lotion

This is a great little Razor that takes a Twin blade, and is a good choice for those prefer shorter handles. An extremely pleasant Shave with an excellent finish, as to be expected from these great blades.
