Hi, I purchased a Bismarck 4 razor, anyone knows an approximate date of manufacture?

Bismarck Razor works were founded in 1892 and were purchased by Dovo (Fritz Bracht) in 1957. The bolsters would likely place it somewhere in the 1920s to early 30’s. Maybe someone else will chime in with more info.

Are people hunting for the Bismarks specifically or the Fritz Bracht time period Dovos?

Dunno about Hunting Em..But when Nice Condition Ones Come Up they Tend to Fetch a Decent Price..A Lot of Bismarks went to Japan & Getting Imported Back in..Fritz Bracht Ones Tend to be Found More in Europe..They are Lovely SRs an All..Built Like Panzer Tanks..:)

I love my vintage Bismark’s .Great German steel with almost perfect grind .They hone in a jiffy and shave awesome.

Those scales are pretty common on 1920-1930-ish razors and with the badge on the scales they would seem to be original. Between the wars is probably a good bet. It should be a fine razor.

    Cheers, Steve
