Hello, I used to speak about my grand'pa razor as "the bompa Gillette" After a closer look, there is absolutetely no marking on any part of it. Does anyone have an idea of wich brand or model it is ?
It looks to be "in the style" of a 1921-28 old type due to the type of blade box, but since it is completely free of identifying markings, I would say it is a very good clone. Without any type of makers mark, it would be hard to tell even with some of the resources there are out there to help identify razors.
Clone. The alignment pins are way too short and rounded to be Gillette. There is no indentation on the bottom of the baseplate to accept the handle. The bottom of the handle appears to be flat, not rounded, and the shape and contours of the ball end are wrong, also the knurling stops abruptly and the tube steps down to smooth.
You are very good detectives guys! It's definitly a copy of this Gillette. The blade case does not fit in the right place, too long!
I've seen clones I was tempted to purchase due to their great condition. Sometimes they're such a great clones, the shave is indistinguishable from the real Macoy.
I would say a clone. The handle is in way too good shape. The head looks like one of the Merkur 15c razors, 13 teeth. The one on the right is a 15c.
