Taking this idea from requests in the 'The Haul' thread, show off your absolute favorite DE/SE/Straight razors from your collection, if you're a collector. Doesn't necessarily mean favorite shaver. Lord knows I've got some beautiful razors that give horrible shaves! Maybe you've got some pieces of hardware that you're just really damn proud to own. Let's see the razor porn! [IMG]

Pictures of the favorites (so far) in my collection:

My all time favorite is this O-2 date code Short Handle Super Adjustable, no case or anything, but I received it totally unannounced one day from one of the fine gents that make up this great board.

I'm curious about DeHaven. Does it accept modern blades? How does it perform? How many different models are there of this brand?

Btw my favorite is a Kampfe razor that accepts modern blades.

Unfortunately, no. The De Haven doesn't accept modern blades. The blade looks similar to an injector blade but it has 2 small cutout holes in it which a brass attachment clips into and onto the blade, then clips into the razor head. There were 6 "models" that I'm aware of and 4 of them were the same razor, just a different case.

Awesome shavers too! Check very closely to make sure it's an O-2. The mythical Q date code razors actually do exist.

Outstanding! With the instructions too?? And blades that say Gem Junior too??? I'm not big on SEs but I'd be proud of that set too!

Unfortunately, I didn't know either of my grand father's worth speaking of. My dad's dad died before I was born and my mother's dad moved out of state while I was still a baby. So I consider one of my uncles to be the closest thing to a grand father I have and I do have his 1964 Slim Adjustable.

From first look, the NEW looks like a NEW Bostonian, sans case. The ABC is one of the best shavers out there, to me. The solid handles, as opposed to everything else Gillette had being hollow handles, makes for a well balanced and solid shaver.

Very good stuff guys, keep 'em coming! [IMG]

I know you said D/E's but some of my S/E's have to be included, and my tastes run to more of the unique style razors, and may not be absolutely pristine. Many of these were shown in the haul before, and they are in no particular order.

    A Doehler-Jarvis adjustable.

A Feathershave, simplicity at its finest.

    Williams squeeze to open D/E.

    Gold Ever-Ready "E-Bar"

Everite Straight Safety Razor, converts from a straight to an S/E, includes a hone and strop in the case.

Type C injector with all the trimmings.

Lastly a Curly's Ideal Safety Razor, with two new replacement blades.

I have more, but I'll let others show their goods.

All of them very cool, especially that Williams. Don't see those often and one razor I've been especially looking for.

    What, you expected more injectors?

Here are some that I haven't used yet, but I'm glad I have them, and will get to them in due course.

1910 ABC Pocket Edition with gunmetal case. The threads inside the handle were stripped, but I was able to fix it with a 10/32 Helicoil.

Gillette Sheraton. I just wanted one open comb DE TTO, and I got this at a decent price.

Star Lather Catcher. If this is not a case mismatch, it's from 1919, otherwise it might be from 1902. I think it probably is a case mismatch, regardless, as there are no slots to hold the stropper or any wedge blades. Waits Compendium doesn't quite resolve the question. Doesn't really matter, except out of curiosity. This is the type with the spring clips that will take either wedge blades or standard SE ones.

    Magazine Repeaters

I know I already posted once in this thread, but is it okay if I just put in one more picture? These are my magazine repeaters, L-R types A, B2, C2, and C1.

I haven't shaved with the type A yet, but plan to get to it in a few days. Of the others, the B2 and C1 shave well, but the C2 is first rate.

That A type looks to be in excellent shape too, which you don't see often. Very cool!
