Prototype Razor Case - DIY project

I had a razor that did not have a case, and I decided to try to make a case for it. Here is the second prototype case which, though not perfect is better than the previous case, which was none.

That's a good looking razor in that nice case you made. Now I want one.

 

That is much more difficult for me that the brush restorations. That may stay at the prototype stage until I can figure out how to do the bottom part better.

 

In that case, I will would like a razorhead with that resin. It reminds me of my DLC Weber.

Great idea!..really! This could be a useful adaptation for travel applications. Personally though I might go with a foam type cut out arrangement for travel though you seemed to have done quite nicely with the final product using cardboard and glue..:2thumbs:

 

I tried foam on the first prototype but it failed due to intolerance with glues (melting).

I may try another one with clay to form the bottom mold and then put the velvet over the hardened clay. That is for another day.

 

Might need a special glue for foam. I'm a bit leery of the clay idea..problem of crumbled bits down the road. Also it might tend to be on the weighty side...

 

Oooh..there are thick felt insoles for shoes that might work just dandy..
Edit: and there is often a special space age layer of silver stuff for extra heat insulation..this will help keep the razors warm. They complain so when they get cold..
