Trio of Merkurs - before and after

    They really cleaned up well. The interesting thing was that the one that appeared to be in the worst shape came out the cleanest and shiniest.

    Sometimes that is because it may have been used the shortest period of time before being put away so less wear was placed on the razor. I have obtained some that provided the same scenario as you discussed.

    The other thought I had was that some of the patina and soap scum may have actually protected the finish from additional wear and/or oxidation.
