I wouldn't spend the big bucks to purchase NOS, but that's the way to enjoy one! Should you ever choose to try a different knot I'll be in line to swap out my ferrule for that one.
Thanks very much amigo. It is also an amazing brush. I believe I can make also any soap work with the 400 #3.
Thank you. The top razor is a Timeless Open Comb razor pictured with a Triad Stainless handle. The razor in the bottom picture is a Wolfman Open Comb pictured with a Hempel Titanium Handle.
I have a few questions about the 400. Is the handle hollow? If so what is the inside diameter? How much does it weigh? What is the thread pitch on it. What knot available now is the closest to them? I ask because I am going to try and make one for myself. I want to make it as close to the original as possible. Thanks Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Several pages back I researched the knots that folks were using. If I recall correctly, there was a particular knot from an Omega at 22mm that gave close to the original look. A little shorted in loft, but it didn't require modifying the collar to fit a larger diameter knot. Those folks that were skillful enough to purchase NOS brushes with original knots have a straight set, rather than a fan or bulb style knot. Sorry I don't have the info about thread size. This website has the most technical data I've found assembled in one location. I'm looking forward to watching you reproduce these wonderful handles! Good luck Tom.
