    Happy Anniversary January!!

    January 20

    Mostly Shavettes

    Razor - Magic Shavette
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
Soap - Route 66 Sweeney Todd
    Brush - Semogue 620
    Post - Alum

After a couple of slightly underwhelming days with the Shark Super Stainless in the Fatip it's time to move on to the shavette version. I'm honestly expecting an improvement based on what has happened so far in these comparisons. But the Shark was underwhelming enough to make me wonder.

The Semogue turned the Route 66 into a mountain of lather and it was extremely slick. That will help. I took a second to reorient myself to the shavette, remind myself that I needed to watch the approach angle, and went to work. First stroke was a bit weak but my angle was a bit shallow. Went back with more angle and got the sound and feel I was expecting. First pass was quite uneventful and very effective. Second pass almost started bloody as I came in too straight on the blade but.....just before contact my brain re-engaged and I avoided the cut. Finished the second pass with a very nice DFS and the blade was seriously smoother tonight than in the Fatip. Alum was also quieter as I had hoped and expected. Amazing how much better a blade can feel when you control the angle so precisely, as well as the adjustments on the angle as you go.

Looking forward to tomorrow's shave with it.

That would be a pain, wouldn't it? No, it pivots at that point to fold flat against the post so that the cap fits snugly over the top. :happy088:

I like it a lot. It is maybe expensive compared to typical shavettes, but it is very well built, and takes three different types of blades. (Although in my opinion, it excels with AC style blades more than the others.)

It is no more expensive than a Feather SS or Kai Captain, is built as well or better, and is more versatile.

Excellent shave with the PAL Adjustable injector razor this morning. Marvelous, bountiful, luxuriously scented lather from the Figaro Monsieur Gold shave soap. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Enjoy your day friends. :)

    Hello TSD ;) Today's shave:

    - Barrister & Mann "Beaudelaire"
    - B-400/Tuxedo
    - Colonial General
    - Feather Professional
    - Lucky Tiger AS

Just another enjoyable, close, comfortable shave. 2 passes, BBS face :happy088: The General is a very efficient razor - and although I really like the Cashmere, the Tuxedo remains my favorite synthetic knot.

Today I can say that I'm a VERY happy camper (and frozen as well!) after using the Glacial Wintergreen trio. The soap exploded into wonderful lather, the balm and witch hazel worked their menthol magic to make the end of this shave perfect. BBS with no effort and so nice! :happy088: :happy088:

Great set up Mark. Whats your take on the MdC Vetiver? I was a little disappointed the scent was so mild.
