Nice shave this morning with Route 66 Rum Runner. The Schick G8 was really smooth. Shiny, slick, and bountiful lather with the Omega synthetic brush. One pass is all I needed after a close shave yesterday. Nice result!

    Have a great day!

Well, here's the report of my first DE razor shave in modern times:

The Stirling Barbershop soap felt real good after application.. Unfortunately, I didn't get the close shave with the Gillette Slim that I'd hoped for. This could have been due to setting the power to low (I had it at 3 with 1 being mild, 9 being strongest). I went one pass with the Slim, then decided to return to the disposeABLE for the 2nd pass. That was better. But I won't give up hope on the Slim..will try it again tomorrow at 4. The Clubman A.S. was/is a great compliment to the Stirling Barbershop soap.

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
    Pre shave - Proraso
    Razor – Barbaros TR-1
    Blade – Astra S/P
Brush - 'El Monstruo' (Romera Manchurian 30/50 Fan)
Soap – Through the Fire Fine Craft – Angel’s Share
Post - Cold water rinse, Witch Hazel, Trevarno Revitalising Face Oil

'El Monstruo'+Angel’s Share began what promised to be a stellar shave, only to be dashed by the Astra, which was past its prime, and provided a very unpleasant shave with the TR-1.

    PickledNorthern Fabulous, the unicorn

Just remember to ride the cap for a while until you find a setting that works, and then you can settle on what angle works best for you. Having a single fixed blade is going to put the pivot factor of your Sensor on you. I know that when I started, I was going too steep, and scraping too much.

How is their brush? I was intrigued by his explanation of the higher than typical loft.
