ERN Ator with a hint of Lime, and a SOC boar, a nice shave today, I rehoned this razor last week as I felt it could be better and I was right, also I dropped my Mann&Federlein razor and chipped the blade :ashamed001::(, luckily it was a laminate wood florring and nothing too solid!!!
The chips are small, and I have since honed them out, I just need to finish the razor and get it back in my rotation:)

Glad to hear your " oh shite" moment didn't cause irreparable damage:)

    Saved by the soft floor!
Not as traumatic as Mike's (entropy1049) accident when his wall frame containing his prized Iwasaki ($$$:sad024:) fell to the marble floor and a massive hunk broke off the nose. He converted it to a shorty ('lemonade from lemons') and I believe Lindyhopper66 is now the proud owner of that resurrected razor. :)

Glad to hear it was not a total disaster and you were able to bring it back from the chips.

Tonight's shave was with a smoooooth American razor. Two pass shave, that left a smooth face after. Not a nick, cut, or weeper to be found.

I suppose I was lucky after seeing that, I was also stropping 2 other razors for a member on here after I had honed em and tried em so lucky it was not one of those razors.

Yes, I now own the Iwasaki shorty. It has a most excellent edge to it. I cringed hearing about the blade breaking, though.

I was going to march through my 5 Russians to get a better sense for how they differ. But travel and some lovely shaves with a Schick repeater C3 got in the way. So, instead of continuing the progression I'd started, I broke out the Arbenz frameback I recently acquired. It was my first shave with a frameback. It was a good shave but not smooth or sharp. Poor first pass reduction but it improved as it went on and the end result was a nice, very close shave. :happy088:
