I have been pickled a time or two, and I have been called a horndog before, but this might be the first time I have ever been called a picklehorn.

Just teasing at you Bill. I am glad that razor works so well for you. They are very comfortable shavers.

Thanks for the comics. Love the funny pages and a cup of coffee on a weekend morning.

The Bostonian, or New Standard depending on which case it comes in, is a very fine razor, especially on faces with two or more day's worth of beard growth. I had no problem getting a smooth and comfortable BBS shave with two passes and some touch up. unspecified (1).jpg

Sorry about the spelling and that`s from a guy that won all his spelling Bees in school. Must be getting old. Yes, it is a really good shaver and thank you so much, God Bless, Bill.

    Saturday.
Today has me with 2 1/2 days of growth and even though I have rearranged my cabinet...I decided to stick with what was (going to be) the next stack. Todays choice comes out of the TOBS stack...and todays combination is...

Razor: Supply Provision Custom 2 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: RazoRock Tri-color
    Soap: Mason Boutique Moroccan Sunset
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Osage Rub
    Alum
    Aftershave: Uncle Jon's Silk Road

A couple of firsts today, the razor and the soap. First, the razor. This is a fantastic razor, it's heavy, very well made, heavy, nice selection of heads, heavy, stainless steel...did I mention it's heavy? I love the weight of this razor, I just let gravity do all the work. The head is small enough to get into tight spaces around my nose, the shave angle is easy to find and it's very audible, a feature I really like. My only complaint is the handle is slightly slippery when wet but it's minor. I'm very happy I splurged on this razor.

The soap. This is my first try of the Mason Boutique brand and I was impressed. The scent off the puck was fantastic; amber, cinnamon, a little citrus with lots of spice notes. Upon lathering the scents intensified on the first pass. At the second pass something weird happened. All the spice notes went away and it smelled exactly like Arko. Now I don't mind Arko but that's quite a switch. The performance of the soap made me forget the scent however; very slick, nice cushion, easy lather. This is a top shelf performer. I splashed on some Uncle Jon's Silk Road and I'm ready for the day. Have a great day folks!

Forget the three dot that was nuts, with the one dot plate and the trimmed Personna Blue the SE becomes a mini-Rocnel. Whether you think that's a good thing or not I don't know but it's an aggressive but still comfortable and very close shave and personally I like it.

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
    Pre shave - Proraso
    Razor – ‘The Rock’ (Rockwell 6S – #3)
    Blade – Gillette 7 O'Clock S/P Black
    Brush - The 'Americana' (Shavemac 24/48 D01 2 Band)
Soap – Van Yulay – Achilles
Post - Cold water rinse, Tallow + Steel – Dark Aftershave

OUTSTANDING!! Achilles is a wonderful soap... excellent protection, and outstanding post shave feel... in fact, I didn't really feel the need for anything after the shave, but I decided to use the 'Dark' anyway.. Hell Yeah!
