As the title says. The razor is marked 'Made in Canada' as are the instructions. The maroon and clear case is marked 'Made in USA'. The closest I can get on Waite is a 1950-56 description but, sadly, no photo. Any help appreciated.
This might help http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm Or just wait for Billy to weigh in.
Thanks for the pointer. Can't be sure of the identification, I think the Canadian production is clouding the issue.
Can't see what it says above the "Made In Canada", but if it says "Patent 1937", should be a type E. I have a similar one with a slightly different handle. (E3?)
1940s at latest, my guess. It's one of the E series. If the spring won't slide over to let it drop open, it's an E3 or later. \E2 fan
The Eversharp on the spring indicates post 1946 production. The parallel lines on the guard suggest an E3 (?) Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Track is not indicative as people often force the spring open. My E2 opens easily and has no visible track. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
The E3 spring has a pin which keeps it from sliding without force. No pin on the E2. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
It doesnt seem to have the tabs on the sides of the spring which would indicate it a G series ? Im not the expert Billy is though
I thought there was no G manufacture in Canada but I often make stuff up, or even remember wrong. Poor Billy has posted this a million times we should keep his E/G info as a sticky. Or under a fridge magnet. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Didn't the Canadian Schicks use the solid maroon case? Or solid cases, regardless of color, but not the clear top kind.
I seem to remember the "No Canadian G" story but dont recall ever reading about an E without those side tabs though. Thats what is confusing me.
Oops, just read that the tabs were removed on the E4...... Im now willing to guess its a Canadian E4 (if there was such a thing) with a date code as late as the 50's.
I thought the E3 had tabs on the side of the spring, but the spring doesn't open like the E2. Google "Schick Injector Razors" and you'll find a link where you can identify. HERM
Thanks for all the interest folks. Intriguing problem isn't it? I've looked at info on line but can't make a definite identification. Waiting for Billy!
Billy here. E4. http://theshaveden.com/forums/index.php?posts/1121563 Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
