The first ('59, E4) of the three that I have. My grandson now has two. Reckon I'll use my F4 before the end of the month...
Waited all week to shave until JR 127 arrived Fatboy on 9. Feather blade. Proraso Red soap and a/s. Jim, Thank You! The brush is amazing. Beautiful craftsmanship. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MWF / CF Summer Storm, B-400 WDHMB '59 Gillette #195, Wilkinson Sword blade Alum block, Avon Leather Aftershave Tried a small sample of MWF but couldn't raise a lather. I applied what I had, took my WTG pass at 9. After I rinsed my face and gear I took CF for a first lather. Much better so I shifted down to 6 for ATG,XTG, and clean up passes. This is my second use on this blade, first time trying them. They suit me in the Fattie. Alum was relatively quiet, AS went well with the second soap. Not a BBS, but close.
Fatboy February's Dove Men Face Wash TABAC Jayaruh #127 H. Böker 5/8 Straight Gillette Fatboy (standby) Wilkinson Sword Super Sword Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block T.N. Dickinson's WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS I really didn't use the Fatboy today. It stood by in reserve in case it was needed. Today, I shaved with my newly restored H. Böker 5/8 straight. I am fine. It was a great shave. The Fatboy had a day off.
@cmorris357 is running out of days to join you guys. He won a FB in the raffle. I anxiously awaiting his review. The FB comes with a great reputation and some hype. It will be fun to get his 1st impressions.
I used the Fatboy, yesterday for the first time. I did my usual 3 pass + touch up routine. Soap Commander Courage whipped up with my Wolf Whiskers black tuxedo brush provided the lather, and Gillette Silver Blue was the first blade of choice. I set the razor on a middle of the road 5, and took off. I finished up with a cold water rinse and tested the shave with Alum. Results? Very close shave with no irritation. I try again tomorrow with the razor bumped up to 7, and see how it goes. My initial thoughts are positive and the Fatboy seems to be a bit smoother than its Slim cousin. Thanks again for the raffle donation @LOOT . I'm looking forward to trying different blades and settings to see if I can dial it in.
Fatboy February's Dove Men Face Wash Col. Conk Amber Jayaruh #128 Gillette Fatboy Wilkinson Sword Super Sword Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block T.N. Dickinson's WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #128 brush. I did two passes the Gillette Fatboy and Wilkinson Sword Super Sword blade, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Right on! I'm glad she found a good home. I play with my barrel every shave, every pass. Always from high to low, decending with each pass. I like the option of customizing my shave and I exercise it with great vigor. If it's been a few days, I'll mow it on 9. If I Shaved yesterday I'll dial her back to 6 or so. That's the beauty of adjustment, IMO. I think I'm odd man tho. Most Ronco it, it seems.
Yeah. When I was young I drove 5 speed cars and loved the control and shifting. I haven't drove a 5 speed since about 2003. I could still do it, but I am in the old fogy mode now.
Took me a while to reach flat out and I did shave on nine for a good while. Lately I've been WTG at 9, 6 for the rest of the shave. Great results with less irritation. While YOMV I've heard drivers get better mileage with a manual.
