Hi Guys, I am a total newbie when it comes to DE Shaving. As of late, I have become so disillutioned with cartridge razors not only regarding the extortionate pricing now but the quality of shave. Finding a forum like this is amazing. I have so much to learn and am really looking forward to this adventure. Take care all. Wayne
Welcome to the Den from Central NJ Wayne! You'll find a ton of info here. Everybody is going to want to know what gear you're using. Once you put that out you'll start getting all kinds of advice. Ask as many questions as you want. I've only been here since November and wet shaving since April. I've learned an awful lot and am looking forward to learning more. Dive on in!
Many thanks for your advice and warm welcome. I am really new to this but my first acquisitions have been a Murker 34c HD followed buy an Omega pro 49 brush. I have no artisan creams at the moment but am really looking forward to trying some. I bought the 34c HD after reading so many good write ups about them and have not been disappointed. I have only used an Astra blade with it at the moment. I have much to learn, particularly with technique but am trying to learn as much as I can and practice. I must confess I am really enjoying it and have the "bug."
If you have a Bath & Body Works near you, C O Bigelow Premium Shaving Cream is a available there. It is the same as Proraso Green. Matter of fact it's made by Proraso. $10 for the large tube. A lot of the gear sites(West Coast Shaving, Maggards,ShaveNation.com etc) have blade, cream and soap samplers. Have fun.
High their, Wayne. I'm glad you have joined our little group. You will find it friendly and informative. Please join in on the fun.
@RetLEO-07 mentions Maggard's. I'm expecting an aftershave from them in a couple days-it's ordered on their website, but not Maggard's itself. Down the road, I may get a Maggard's soap. But yes, there are others to research as well.
