I don't know if I should even reply to this thread. It has gone down hill on a very slippery slope. Oh what the hay. It might be fun. I do both. Though I have found to stick my blade under running water verses in a sink full of water. I have found the bottom of the sink once or twice. Then I wipe the blade off with a towel. Neither. Used to dunk in alcohol but don't bother anymore. Now, at most I loosen the head, swish it underwater and that's that.
Rinser. However, when I change blades, I give the razor a scrub with a toothbrush and Dial antibiotic. Then a good dry and then in goes the new blade.
Rinser, dunker/swisher. I learned early on to always lead with the spine into the water when dunking.
Wiper. I like to see the shaved whiskers.... I take the towel I used to prep with and fold it over the edge of the sink to wipe on.
Rinser. If you have the water on low enough, you can still see the whiskers hit the sink. This is probably in my head, but it feels like the blade follows my face better when run under really hot water for a few seconds.
I wipe. Last rinse error resulted in a trip to see @gssixgun to fix the Aust 5/8. And his work is first rate...
I'm with @swarden43 I fill the sink about 3/4 full and swish the blade in the water. I've found this method easily gets the lather and whiskers off of my blade, wastes less water and is so much quieter. When I was shaving with a cart I had to rinse and then beat the razor handle on the sink edge to get all the hair and lather from between the blades.
I'm still relatively new to the wet shaving party but I've noticed I prefer the sink half full of hot water method! I didn't even think there was a different way to do it other than to turn the faucet on every time I wanted to rinse it. I think I've leaned more towards the rinse and towel recently since my razor met the bottom of the sink once and I was afraid I broke it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
