I do like shaving with cold water. I don't do it everyday but I do shave with cold water. I do shave with cold water more in the RV now than I did in the past. But using a portable Oxygen supply it's a lot safer to not fire up the water heater in the RV. At home the water heater is electric.

I am interested in joining the Fellowship of Cold Water Shavers. Especially because I have a coarse beard and my skin on my chin and neck are sensitive and prone to razor burn and irritation. This sounds like a viable option. In order to facilitate my induction into this prestigious order, I would like to learn more about the particular aspects of prep and technique, such as, should I soak my brush in cold water, does this work with shave creams as well as soaps, how cold is cold? Will using an alum block still be beneficial? I live in Minnesota and rinse my face in cold water after a shave, so I am used to my hands being very cold and know the jarring and invigorating feel of cold water after a shave.

I shower in hot water, then rinse of in cool to cold water anyway, so this sort of goes hand in hand. I am looking forward to any and all input.

I read the article in the link and downloaded most of the book in PDF format. It is truncated after page 80 something. Great read and I am sure it is as applicable to double edge shaving as well as straight razor shaving. Tomorrow I am going to embark on this method of shaving and give it a fair chance. I shall report my experience as I move forward with it.

Hussy for the head (lol), A for beard duty. I mixed some good hair conditioner in with the shave oils and I quite like the results. Super slick.
