That has been my experience when using any shave stick. I took the first Arko stick I had and cut it up and pressed it into a mug. I moved the remainder of it to an old deodorant container recently but still have the same result that you get - the drying plaster cast. It's the same with a La Toja stick and a TSD stick. Just never had good success with shave sticks. I'll just go with traditional tubs and loading with a brush in the container!

    Parker Variant razor
    Treet Dura-Sharp blade
    WD Synthetic brush
    Palmolive Menthol SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Barbasol Brisk A/S w/added menthol

Nice shave, the Parker seems to be my best razor and I always get smooth, close, comfortable shaves with it. So I'm ready to go to the Dr. office, I feel like crap.

    Razor: RazorRock Hawk
    Blade" Feather ProGuard (3)
    Cream: La Toja
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Pre Shave: DIY
    AS: AV Musk

Saying this combo (RazorRock Hawk, Feather Pro Guard, is great, maybe getting old, but it`s true. So smooth and I`m getting used to the feel of the razor itself, and the width, that the clean-up was almost non- existent. Hooray! The old saying " you learn something new everyday" seems to be true.
A happy camper is also true, wishing the same for all and God Bless.

I've learned that less is more with shave sticks. Try it again without soaking the stick. Wet your face and rub the stick on it. At this point you should only see a light film of soap on your face. There shouldn't be so much soap on your face that it resembles plaster. Put a wet brush to your face and lather up.
My Arko explodes with good lather when I do it this way. Good luck!

The Ikon Tech is such a challenge I thought taking another spin would help me figure it out. Beard was easy, nice if bladey two pass BBS. Head shave was still tricky but no weepers and ultimately an extremely close irritation free shave. Some say the razor is rough but not particularly efficient but I get good results. Not for kids. Oil only.

Day 2 of 30 days of Henckel straights

I got a much better shave today. Yesterday I knew my angle was wrong, but didn't know how to correct it. Today, it sort of fell into place. One thing I like about the smaller razor is that it is easier to maneuver in tight quarters. The thing I am not thrilled about is that it is a very light blade that skips sometimes. At first I thought the skipping was due to my lather being wrong, but it has more to due with the weight of the blade.

I did three passes today and got a DFS, which is more than acceptable.

Although the Krampert's Frostbite soap and aftershave are not as cold as anything Glacial they're still plenty cold, so they should be enough to please any Menthol Monkey. They smell so nice and give great skincare! ;) :D

Todays shave was with a French Rattler Razor(Faux Frameback). I had touched it up on the Arkansas Surgical Black stone. It was a "Mehhh" shaver before, and could give a DFS if needed. Today was a 2 pass shave, with minor touchup on the chin. It delivered a very smooth BBS shave, on the face. It will no longer be put in the "Box of Shame".

Two pass shave this afternoon with good results. The I1 is smooth and comfortable. The Fine soap can take a good amount of water and is slick and protective. It's really a nice soap. Nice shave all in all.

    Have a great day!

It has been pretty hectic lately. Electric shavers and carts have been overused. It is nice to have the time for a proper shave. Wonderful shave; close, smooth, and comfortable!
Razor: RazoRock Protege, This has become my favourite razor.
    Blade: Kai, Favourite blade.
Brush: Wilkinson Sword boar, Love this brush. Dirt cheap, but wonderful.
    Soap: Stirling, Excellent soap.
Aftershave: TSD and DR Harris, Love both of these. Will miss the TSD when it's empty.
