I practice Delayed Gratification, sometimes Ex-SWIMBO referred to it as laziness. Still have a bigger bored out ferrule destined for a flat top boar so I can enjoy the NOS look of an original R-400. The Whipped Dog knot, courtesy of @clint64, is by far the best badger knot I've tried. Having set it just a scooch deeper than maximum loft helped to tighten up and increase backbone. Jim's @Jayaruh Maggard's synthetics are great work horse knots. I find no fault in them and would recommend as a starter synthetic brush knot for novice to expert. Tuxedo's? Only if you want the softest brush you've ever used. Well, that I've ever used. YOMV.
Welcome to The Collective. You have been Assimilated. Did you try to resist? Someone told me it's futile...
I got another ferrule from Tom for my Bunny B-400. I put the Omega 48 knot in it. Here it is ready for tomorrow's shave.
Still using my B400 Bush, by Tom (@twhite ). It's my favorite brush. It just feels right, especially with the Whipped Dog Boar knot.
I put a two-band badger in my final ferrule. Today, I did a test lathering with it. I will put it into rotation starting Monday. For the test I used my usual, Soap Commander Renewal. New Virginia Sheng two-band badger. Tools assembled. I loaded the brush for 30 seconds and with a little water, I got this. With a little additional lathering I got this. Rinsed out and ready to dry. Getting ready for its first week of shaves.
Well, now that I think about it, it is better than any crappy handle I have, so it must be the best crappy handle. HA!
A friend just sent me a 48 which I've never used but hear good things about. Did you need to Dremel the ferrule to get the 48 to fit? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Jeff. Bring the ferrule and the knot by. I will open it up for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
