Couldn't say, 'cause the tub isn't that old. But I just load up until I see soap thru the knot.

That's what I do as well. Do you face lather or bowl lather?

bowl latherer as well. But I even go so far as to grab a demitasse spoon amount and press it into my bowl. This has worked well for me due to my brushes might be too soft to grab a reasonable amount of soap. Too much water or too little soap has been corrected by this.

Not a huge amount, no. It does have a fantastic pleasant cooling sensation, more so than a usual alcohol burn. The Cool is just a super product. I don't know how close it is to the Floid Blue it is based on as I never owned it.
The Reserve Spice contains none, or at least feels like none...

Razor: Portland Razor Co Chimera / Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Strop: Drygulch 45
Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom
    Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo
    Soap: B&M Petrichor
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Alum
    Osage Rub
    Aftershave: B&M Petrichor

Fantastic shave this morning. I really enjoy the scent of the Petrichor, it reminds me of quality time in the garden as a kid with my parents and grandparents. It smells exactly like wet dirt but there's a nice spicy background that peaks through every so often. Once the AS dries down that spicy scent becomes more pronounced, I can't place it but really enjoy it. Another full pass shave with the Chimera this morning. I love this razor, it is wicked sharp and easily maneuverable plus the western grind makes it easy to find the edge. One pass with the Supply and one with the Chimera and I ended up with a DFS. Have a great day folks!

I tried bowl lathering in the beginning but it never really worked for me. I will say that I find Route 66 to be one of the easiest soaps to load and lather. It is not MdC easy. I am not sure anything else is that easy but it still easier than most if not all artisan soaps I have tried. I don't find Route 66 to be a thirsty soap but I have not found it to be finicky to dial in. Nothing like Mystic Water or MWF in that regard.

Maybe @mrchick can chime in. He uses Route 66 with a bowl regularly.
