I rarely if ever bowl lather a cream or a soap - in fact I find that by doing that it even reduces the lather quality for me. The other day when I went for a haircut my barber gave me a nice metal lathering bowl and told me to try it. I figured, "what the hell it's a gift, so why not?" I put a little of the Top Ten Sensitive cream in the bowl, and it turned out to be a great idea because this cream comes out of the tube a little sticky as well as very dense. I wet the Plissoft and went to work for around 30 seconds and I had a beautiful lather explosion which almost buried my face. This cream's scent is so nice, fresh, and sporty and it gives a good menthol effect which becomes more apparent on the 2nd pass. I enjoyed this shave so much and I wound up super-BBS. Instead of using the Gold Bond I went with the Nivea Cool Kick balm and that did a great job of moisturizing and soothing my skin. The Aqua Velva gave me some extra cooling that felt so wonderful. By the way, Top Ten Sensitive is one of the most popular creams in Bulgaria as well as one of the cheapest! :happy088: :happy088:

    Pre: warm water splash
Razor: Fendrihan Closed Comb DE / Astra SP
    Brush: Semogue Boar
    Cream: GFT Coconut Oil
Post: Witch Hazel / Pre de Provence ASB
    Mustache Wax: Got 2b Glued

I seem to be on a roll lately with GFT Coconut and a DE. But as I say, if it feels good and it gives a great shave, why change. Tomorrow I will switch razors and a new blade and maybe I will go crazy and even switch my soap! Still having a great time with my new (old) scuttle.

    Brush: Vulfix badger
    Lather: Arko
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Piacenza aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Good shave today with Arko. The post-shave qualities aren't that great but I still got a good shave. However I'll lean toward my better soaps and keep Arko on the back burner for now.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hello everyone! Today's shave:

    rdt2904.jpg

    - Stirling leftover soap mix
    - Maggard Synthetik
    - Gillette Red Tip
    - Personna Lab Blue (Shave # 10 or 11 I guess)
    - Speick ASL

The Red Tip is a very fine razor, though I still think the Rocket HD is my favorite razor of the "Super Speed family". Oh and - love the blade. Better than the non-US-version I used quite a while ago when I started shaving with DE razors.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

I thought I'd see if the Futur clone shaves as close as the Ikon Tech. For me it didn't today, the Ikon side of my head was noticeably smoother after two passes then the Futur side. Futur setting at 4 for seemed no more efficient than at 3, I think I'm happier at the lower setting. [IMG]

    Pre Shave: Hibco Nag Champa
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Lather: Williams Soap
Razor: Gillette `48-`50 SS Flare Tip
    Blade: Personna Israeli Red
    Alum Block: Shavex
    AS: Aqua Velva Musk/ Afta

One of the finest shaves in recent history until I got down to the clean-up. A two pass, ATG/ATG went fine as silk, smooth and felt good. On the clean-up, the blade seemed to scrape the skin and it hurt, a few small weepers in all the usual places, which caused me to break out the alum block for the first time.
The first time I`ve ever used one (I think I kinda liked it). It seemed to bring the shave together, if that makes any sense. Anyway I`m well pleased with the outcome. Happy camper on this end, wishing all a fine shave. God Bless. 100_3779.JPG
