Any suggestions for how to store a Kamisori so it doesn't damage the edge? I need a case or a roll I can close to get it away from little hands.
I was planning on make my own, just wasn't sure if how to design it. I have a couple of nice glasses cases I could use. Should actually be able to fit all four of them in one.
Have one right now, and two inbound. Also have two Geo Korn fixed blades that are kind of American Kamisori.
I received this cool box with Rasupru kamisori, it uses magnets to hold the razor in place. They sell the boxes separate but I think you could build something like it.
I could probably knock up a box like that in a few minutes. The main frame is butt joints (probably only glued, no actual reinforcement), and there's a rabbet joint sliding cover.
I think I am going to try taking an eye glasses case, make the two rests out of leather, with magnets embedded in them, then cover the entire case in a thin leather and see if I can make a nice looking one.
Well I started working on my case. My three Kamisori will fit well. I cut some blocks out of leather, then started cutting notches for the handles, when my knife slipped, and my hand didn't. It will be a bit before I finish this case.
At this point, if you count the ER visit, I have too much money invested in the current one to not finish it.
