That sounds great, I will check it out. I was actually researching after seeing this thread this morning and looking for a paste that wouldn't pull when applying it, so thanks for the suggestion.
Glad I stumbled upon this thread. I just started using pomade. I picked up a jar of Layrite original. Same as my barber used. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I give a vote for nostalgic homemade as the best. I would put uppercut in the top as well, but in all fairness, they are both quite different...so it depends on what you are looking for. I like layrite, but it produced flakes, so I had to give it away.
I've been looking into pomade lately myself, and am looking for the same attributes as listed above. What's a good starting point for this? I was looking at the Suavecito matte, but in all honesty it's a shot in the dark. I just want something more "manly" than hair spray to tame my hair, and don't really think the wet look will work for me...
Saucevito has some serious flakes. It is also more for a wet look. I would go with nostalgic Handmade. It has all of the attributes and is more for a dry look, which I use as well https://www.nostalgicgrooming.com https://www.the-pomp-official.com/home/2016/5/15/nostalgic-handmade-water-based
Well, I got a coupon code for WCS, good on clearance items, and ordered $40 worth of various pomades to try. Got some oil based, water based, hybrid and wax... I'll post pics on arrival, and share my thoughts as I use them.
I have only tried Suavecito matte finish. It smells great but isn't as firm as I need it to be. My hair is thick as can be and need duct tape like hold. There is a lot I like about the Suavecito but the hold ain't one.
