Tonight's shave was with one of my favorite Rescue Razors(Scales broken, and blade rusted). This razor is a very very nice shaving one. It gave an ultra sharp and ultra smooth 2 pass shave, with no issues. If I saw another one of these for sale, for a decent price, I wouldn't hesitate to bid on it.

Razor- Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. Made in Germany.
    Brush- B400 By Tom
    Soap- MWF(Mitchell's Wool Fat)
    Aftershave- Florida Water

A phemonemally easy, close and comfortable shave like I haven't had in some time. There's a chance this is an odball transitional razor that's more closely related to the Damaskeene, because that's what it reminds me of. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it has dethroned my venerable 1914. Will now have to get some PTFE blades to see how that feels.

•Witch hazel, not that I needed it. :)

Trials and Tribulations - 30 DC LE Brush inaugural shave!

    June 27

Razor - Delta Echo New LC
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Barbershop
    Brush - 30 DC LE
    Post - Alum

Last night's shave was so good let's just repeat it. Not often I stick with a high end shave. I've earned the right. The only change is to sub in Stirling Barbershop scent for the T&H 1805. Faultless head shave for the preliminary round on a Tuesday night.

The Stirling was defenseless against the Tuxedo knot in the LE brush. Fast and overabundant load that turned into a sink full of lather if I had squeezed it out at first. No lack of slickness or cushion and the New LC and Voskhod made easy work of it. The baby showed up again with really no extra effort. Don't know how much simpler this process can be. Two passes, minor touch up, put the baby to bed and call it a night. Yep, that's quality any way you slice it.

We're down to the last few days of June. Summer is marching on and July is right around the corner! I will probably continue on down the blade trial path for part of the month at least. I'll return to the trials tomorrow with another Indian blade. Not sure which, but I'll pick one by then. I think once July arrives it's time to revisit another old friend too for part of the month. He's eager to go.

    Razor: Icon X3, Maggard MR18C
    Blade: Gillette Rubies
    Soap: Mystic Water Sweet Briar
Post: Dr. Jon's Propoganda, Tommy cologne, DIY post shave butter

Had a nice shave this morning, got a thick lather from MW and Sweet Briar is a wonderful tobacco scent that paired well with Propoganda aftershave. Did end up with a few nicks so put on some homemade post shave butter to help repair any damage than may have been done. Hope everyone enjoyed the shave!

The shave was fantastic! This razor is one sneaky devil! lol it's like a woman.. she lures you in with her smooth silky swagger.. but trust me the girl can turn around in a dime and bite! The plus and minus on the head is deceiving to me. Yes, you can see the blade gap is different, but to me the plus was smoother than the minus. The minus felt more aggressive . The handle being plastic is actually a plus on this razor. It allows for a very good grip and with the head being heavier it aids in the shave. Well I'm bbs smooth and it's awesome razor!
