    RAZOR: Parker SR1
    BLADE: fresh Shark blade
BRUSH: Burma Shave boar brush - from local drugstore
PRESHAVE: Tri Coastal Design White Birch & Tobacco Shave Butter
SOAP: Hybrid (homemade) Col. Conk LIME + Williams Mug Shave Soap
AFTER SHAVE: Barber Shop Classics Booster Iced Lime

No time to dally this morning! Got a great very quick 2-pass BBS shave (except for one spot under the neck - noticed later).
The Tri Coastal Design White Birch & Tobacco Shave Butter must have some menthol in it, providing a nice cooling sensation for the shave.
I have only used this cheap Burma Shave brush a few times, but it is already nicely broken in and provides a very productive & comfortable face lather with this soap. I find the Col.Conk/Williams hybrid soap provides a rich lather with excellent slickness, glide, and cushion.

The fresh shark blade allowed me to use a very light touch and still get a very close shave.
The BOOSTER gave a little burn, but the menthol cooled it down quickly.

Have a great weekend - everyone.

Jimjo, I really like the looks of that brush.
And nice to hear of your success with the DIY melted soap combination.
    Sounds like a winner!

Today's shave was with an excellent little wedge. I have a few razors from the Union Cutlery Co., Olean NY, and they never disappoint. I had a very smooth, and near silent 2 pass shave, with BBS results. There is something about a wedge shave, that is fun. Maybe because it feels nothing like a Hollow Ground razor. When I first used these Wedge Razors, I said; "Crap, this is a dud razor". Silent, stiff, and smooth. But, I felt my face, and to my surprise, smooth as silk.

Razor- Union Cutlery Co. "Gold Spike". Wedge.
    Brush- Semogue, 1800 Boar
    Soap- Stirling, Ozark Mountain
    Aftershave- Arctic Blue

Thanks Doug.....trying to stretch things out a bit more. I'll have to as winter approaches-those soaps I still have(Stirling Barbershop, 66, WSP Sandalwood, etc)last loooong time. Why am I telling YOU this(the last part that is) :)).??

Another Friday already and another getting ready for date night shave. Something new for this shave - a new Semogue 1250 Boar Brush. This makes my 4th boar brush (two Omegas, and now two Semogue). First shave with it so it will need to break in over the coming weeks - but still provided a great shave. Rest of the set up: Captain's Choice bowl, Chiseled Face Summer Storm soap, G1 Fatboy razor with a Rapira PL blade, Nivea post shave balm and a good healthy splash of Clubman VI Bay Rum. All is good.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 finest badger brush. I did the two passes with the Russian Rocket Raketa Straight and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (6)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

What a difference three little clicks on a Fatboy makes. This "generic" Dorco improved at least 50% just with a bit of aggression. Maybe more. Much smoother feel, much more effective but still a bit on the irritating side according to the alum and my face as I sit here now. Still an improvement over last night.

The finish after two passes and touch ups was a nice DFS. Definite improvement but still not the baby that the Prime and Titan pulled off on their second shaves. Hard to complain about that, though, as the baby is always a bonus for me.

The question now is whether or not this blade can take the full gap of the Fatboy on 9. We'll answer that question tomorrow. And, if it improves as much again, I may be tempted to take it to the QShave and give it even more gap to play with.

I bring greetings from @Bama Samurai , who has been noticeably absent the past few days. He send apologies and greetings. He's been working more hours than not due to a shortage of help at work. I'm sure he'll get through that and be back with us shortly.
