    Brush: Jayaruh #142 black badger
    Lather: Stirling Grapefruit
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Grapefruit aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Nice little Menthol Monday edition with Stirling Grapefruit. Easy menthol effect but cool and refreshing nonetheless. The JR badger whipped up nice lather and the M adjustable was set wide open. Smooth and comfortable shave. Quite enjoyable and a nice way to start the work week.

    Have a great day!

The den is graced this week with the @twhite Igor adjustable SE. It's an ingeniously simple and effective design, no pins to lose, no incantations required to load and solidly secure a blade. I took my time with Igor on its more aggressive setting, occasionally losing the angle which I attribute mostly to having been away from SEs and their ways for a while. Three passes to a beautiful BBS shave, no irritation. I think with a little practice I'll get that down to two.[IMG]

RAZOR: Matador Toro Mastiff Largo - gold; this is an EXCELLENT DE razor. Geometry is aggressive, you can really feel the blade - efficient.
BLADE: Dorco ST300 - a decent blade. I prefer less aggressive blades in more aggressive razors. These blades hold their edge for many shaves.
BRUSH: Ever Ready 200T - bought this one new back in my youth. Good boar brush- a little too much loft for me but builds a respectable lather.
MUG: Repurposed generic coffee/soup mug. Has a nice wide mouth.
SOAP: Hybrid Col. Conk BAY RUM / VDH Luxury soap. I drizzled some VIBR into the melted Colonel, and plopped in a puck of VDH.
PRESHAVE: Bloom water followed by generous application of the Coastal Design White Birch & Tobacco Shave butter
AFTERSHAVE: Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum- as refreshing as an island breeze
    BALM: NOPE
    Matador_EverReady.jpg
Achieved a truly superior 2 pass BBS (with minor touch up). This razor is a real gem.
I have been going through this BAY RUM hybrid soap at a rapid pace this summer. Sorry to say it is almost gone. Works great.

    Have a great week everyone.

The razor looks fantastic. I am interested to hear how it performs after you have some time with it.

Henri et Victoria Nautilus today. 20 seconds to load the Turtleship Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. I loaded a new Rapira Swedish Supersteel in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Bulgari Blu EdT.

Stirling Margarita's in the Artic SS
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe

Fantastic Monday shave! This is a great combo and my face liked it a lot. Only thing I'd change is to make the scent of the Florida Water last longer. Now go enjoy your day folks.

    Satin Tip the Purest

A very smooth shave out of the Schick 66. The Stirling MITA produced a very nice lather that was super cold but I felt the scent was a bit overpowered by the menthol. The Satin Tip was my first synthetic brushes and still one my my favorites. Maybe its just because it has the most user and I really know how to dial the lather in with it, but it never fails to produce lather that is the perfect consistency. Have a great day friends!

    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Astra day 2
    OSP Grapefruit Menthol SS
    Gold Bond Moisturizer
    Alt Innsbruck AS Splash

You know what, the OSP Grapefruit Menthol from England is one hell of a good artisan soap. James Riley knows what he's doing and although this is only the second artisan product from the UK I've tried I really enjoy it. It has more of an orange than a grapefruit scent, it lathers like a demon, and its cooling effect is at around the regular MITA level. Skincare-wise, I'd give it about 8/10 so it's definitely pretty damned good. I LOVE the Alt Innsbruck aftershave because it has a classy scent and it's VERY mentholated!
