Second day with Tom's Igor. Stainless blade, much better today as I stuck closer to optimum angle. Two passes plus some ATG clean ups was sufficient for the beard. Head shave still needs work, I couldn't get Igor working smoothly ATG on the crown stubble at the end. More experimentation required.

    Pre-shave: hot shower
    Shaving cream: TOBS Jermyn Street
    Brush: Synthetic Omega Hi-Brush
    Razor: Vintage bullet-tip Micromatic
    Blade: Gem Stainless (3)
Post-shave: Thayer's Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm, Jovan Musk AS / Cologne

Historically, I've found that I can't get 3 shaves with these Gem SE blades, but today I did. It was very comfortable, no issues at all. I like this Gem Micromatic razor, even though it's only the second time I've used it. I love the scent of this TOBS Jermyn Street shaving cream. I'm not very good at describing scents but suffice it to say this is a favorite of my limited collection. Also, I haven't used the Jovan at all for a very long time, but I'm enjoying the scent now. It used to be a favorite of mine many years ago when shaving wasn't fun.

    Enjoy the day, everyone!

    JAMIE'S NIGHT SHAVE..

    1. Warm Shower - Stirling Bar Soap - Clubman Country Club shampoo.
    2. AOS Lavender Pre Shave Oil.
    3. TSD [The Shave Den] TEA TREE LAVENDAR - Lanolin Shave Stick.. First shave with the LANOLIN TSD Soap ( I have the Wheat Sub Zero & Cool Water Type and that is a great cream) - This Lanolin soap is REALLY Special, now I sliced a sliver off the stick and pressed it in the bottom of the bowl and bloomed it with a little water and 2 drops of TSD menthol bomb, It lathered nicely and was not as thick as most artisan soaps - which was fine because the slickness was above average - now here is the BEST thing about this LANOLIN soap - POST SHAVE smoothness and my skin feels so soft and moisturized - ABOVE AVERAGE post shave!! The TEA TREE LAVENDAR is a really awesome scent.

Tonights shave was with my E2. As I have not used it for almost a year. I had forgotten how maneuverable this little bad boy is. 3 pass near perfect shave.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #216 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Push-Button razor and a CVS blade. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Clubman Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Today is Williams Wednesday and for the occasion I used a Stetson scented Williams. The day before I had issues with not getting as close a shave as I would have liked from this blade and a LC. I thought it might have been the blade getting close to the end of it's usefulness. I have been able to get really good results this month from this Brooklyn and blade combo after some tips from Tom on razor angle. So before I tossed the blade I wanted to try it again with the Brooklyn. Boy am I glad I did. I was treated to a three pass damn near BBS shave. This blade has definitely NOT reached it's end. Though I believe that the blade has been conditioned to the 1912 and that is why it did not do as well yesterday. I finished with some Stetson AS. I will try the LC again tomorrow with a new PAL blade.

    A Stirling SEptember

    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Personna injector
    Brush: Omega Hi synthetic
    Lather: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Personna injector today. This might the mildest razor in my den. It works well but is quite mild. I did more touch up than normal to get where I normally am for most shaves. Still enjoyable and I'm glad to have this razor in my collection.

    Have a great day!

1924 and Igor shared duty. Igor weighs in at 49g, some 20g lighter than the Shovelhead (about the same as the Push Button) and feels completely different because of the light weight and, at least to me, somewhat lesser blade feel. To some extent you have to trust Igor is doing what he's supposed to do and resist the temptation to mess around too much with angle and pressure, because ultimately Igor seems equally efficient (immediately post shave I perceive no difference. Two easy passes plus clean ups. Gem Stainless.[IMG]

The penguin is the mascot of Linux distros.
It is a different type of operating system like Windows or Apple only it's free to use.
