    Proraso Pre Shave
    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #227
    AutoStrop VB1
    Feather SE

    Thayer's Peach WH
    Pinaud Vanilla

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #227 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the AutoStrop VB1 razor and Feather SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Pinaud Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

An excellent 3 pass shave that was refreshing and oh so smooth! I can't say enough good things about the The Dead Sea soap and aftershave combo. Just brilliant skin conditioning properties and post shave feel. The scent is either love/hate, I love. Have a great evening and shaves Gents..... :happy088:

Tonight's shave was with a newly acquired, restored, and honed Sheffield made razor. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/wade-butcher-aka-snaggle-tooth.57763/ I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, that left me with BBS results. 1 pas would have been good for a DFS. Very nice, well built razor.

Razor- Wade & Butcher. 13/16th Sheffield Made. Horn Scales.
    Brush- B400 By Tom
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy

RAZOR: Matador Toro Mastiff Largo - gold; an EXCELLENT DE razor. Geometry is aggressive, efficient.
BLADE: Dorco ST300 - These blades hold their edge for many shaves.
BOWL: Repurposed generic soup bowl. Room for PLENTY of lather!
    PRE SHAVE: Hot water rinse.
SHAVE CREAM: CREMO LATHERING SHAVE CREAM - Sandalwood - bowl lather. (Improved Formula)
BRUSH: SheaMoisture Ultimate Shave Brush - black badger knot. Plenty of rich lather for multiple passes.
POST SHAVE: Clubman Jumbo Styptic Pencil - used to measure the aggressiveness of the shave.
AFTER SHAVE: Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
BALM: Maison Collection Hand Lotion Blush Grapfruit
    Matador_SheaMoisture_Cremo.jpg
I took three passes because I was enjoying this shave so much. I had this bowl loaded with thick, rich, creamy, great smelling lather.
The Cremo lather was excellent! Extremely slick, with plenty of cushion. I need to dial back on the initial brush load. Very nice!
    -Waste not want not-
Truth be told, I really only needed two passes. This razor gives a very close, efficient shave. By the 3rd pass, this was an extremely close shave.
Definitely BBS all the way. Maybe just a touch of razor burn. I used the styptic pencil like an alum block to judge the shave. WHOO-WEE, close!
The VIBR cooled me down after the styptic, and the Grapefruit balm provided a very soft smooth finish to my face.
And the scent combo of Bay Rum & Grapefruit was sensational!

I really enjoy using this Matador razor. It provides a shave that rivals the closeness, efficiency and face feel of a straight razor or shavette. Love it!

I hope everyone had shaves that were as productive and enjoyable as mine was today.

JBO, I really appreciate your picture & relating the experience with your Grandmother. I salute you for honoring your Grandparents.
I have a brother that I never met (he died before I was born), and my Dad used to take me to the cemetery to clean up the family headstones every spring before Easter. When my 4 children got to be old enough to participate, my Dad would take them to do the same, until the year he died.
The kids have all moved away, so I am on my own doing it now, but the kids still recall that tradition every holiday.

    BTW: that brush looks nice.
    Thanks for sharing.

Man, I get misty eyed just thinking about not having someone around to go with... I used to stop solo on the way home from a fast paced financial production based job to clear the mind and talk to him before I went home to the kids. But my favorite times are always when my son is with me. He got to know him really well and learn a lot in his first 10 years on earth and KOB's last 10! I think this will forever be my lock screen as it captured the deep thought and love he picked up just simply using a stick to clear out the writing![IMG]

And thanks! I love the little Muhle V2 synthetic! It's the only non made in USA piece of his birthday shave!

Razor - Matthew the Haunted New Deluxe SC
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Pre-shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Stirling Electric Sheep
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

I realized this morning as I was going through some gear that I had totally forgotten about a very special OC in my collection. Matthew the haunted razor is a 1935 (ish) New Deluxe SC and one that I like very much. I have let him sleep in his box more than some others largely because he's in need of a replating and I just hadn't gotten him sent off yet. Now, I know, some of you say that the whole "haunted razor" thing was an Ebay seller's hype. But there was something about this razor that really connected with me. Call it a ghost, call it just my appreciation for cool vintage stuff. Either way, it's a very cool razor.

Grabbed the Electric Sheep for a mutton tallow shave on steroids and the JR46. I'm very happy that JR54 will soon be in the den to keep 46 company. They can share stories of their time with @Jayaruh and how they were once just ordinary wood until he transformed them into beauties! Lather tonight was thick and slick, especially on top of the pre-shave soap. Yep. Still using it.

Two passes and touch ups got the baby back in the house. The New SC is just a bit more aggressive than the LC but just as fun to shave with. All it does is perform. Perfectly. Love it.

I'll stick with this for two more nights then take a Shenanigan break with a couple of different things. I'm looking forward to two more nights with this razor and with the Electric Sheep. I see a tub of it in my future when the sample runs out.
