    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20171018_201535.jpg

Prep: MLSW Sandalwood pre shave butter
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Gillette Rubie
    Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic
    Soap: Tallow & Steel Himalaya
    Post: T&S Himalaya A/S

Had a super smooth shave this evening. The more water I threw at the lather the thicker and slicker it got. Have grown to love the scent of Himalaya and the performance is top notch. The matching aftershave made the scent last even longer, plus my face feels wonderful. Hope everyone had a great shave!

Tonight's shave was with a newly acquired, freshly restored and honed Sheffield Wedge. I had a near silent 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. Zero issues. I do like these old cast steel wedges.

Razor- Wade & Butcher, Near Wedge. Sheffield England.
    Brush- B400 By Tom
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Osage Rub. Brrrrr.

I have a Wilkinson just like yours. I get a really good(not a BBS, but a good " Workman`s Shave) with canned lather, when I`m in a hurry, or sometimes for a good clean up. Really is a handy tool to have on my belt. Now I`ll have to try it for real.

Ever since I took my grandpa's straight to the Arkie it has become one of my sharper and better razors. The difference is fairly dramatic. I've always liked the scales and now they have a blade that compares favorably. :happy036:

Pre-shave: hot shower & Shave Secret (not pictured)
Shave Cream: Travel Size Barbasol Sensitive Skin scent re. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/
    Razor: 1970 Gillette Adjustable 109 (P-1)
    Blade: Personna Blue (4)
Post-shave: Thayer's Lavender WH, Nivea Cooling Post Shave Balm, Aqua Velva AS

Late evening shave today since I spent the day at the lake. Continuing with the "How many shaves can a shaver get from a travel size can of Barbasol" experiment.

Did a single pass with the '70 Gillette (this time, set at #1). Then a 2nd pass and I was done. Very CCS tonight. I used an extra amount of the Nivea balm this evening because I got a lot of sun today. Although it was only in the mid-60s that sun was beating down hot! And the highs here for the next two days are supposed to be about 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Have a great day / night everyone!

    OCtober!!!

    October 18

Razor - Matthew the Haunted New Deluxe SC
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Pre-shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Stirling Electric Sheep
    Brush - Stirling Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Second shave with this setup and it's a winner. Adding the mentholated pre-shave soap under the Electric Sheep gives it just an extra edge that really makes it an interesting shave. The slight cooling of the menthol on top of the Electric Sheep effect is quite nice and the scent is also enhanced in just the right way. Great combination of a pre-shave product and a soap. I'm thinking a full bar of the pre-shave soap is probably in my future. We'll have to give Rod an honorary enabler award for sending that sample with one of my orders. Looks like he got me.

As far as the shave - the baby is in the house in 2 plus touch ups. Nothing more needs to be said. Other than I really like the feel of this razor in my hand. Definitely going to have it re-plated. The only decision is whether to take it back to its original vintage gold or to have Delta Echo do a number on it. I'm a bit torn on which way to go. Your votes are certainly allowed!

I'd say stay with the original gold. Bear in mind I'm a traditionalist.
