Frameback Friday meets the French Connection...

Razor: La Doucheuse 7/8” frameback (Google had fun with me researching this one :) )
    Brush: Polar Metalworks Badger
    Soap: LPL Rose de Pushkar
    A/S: Fine Lavender Pour Homme

Not really sure what I have here other than a real nice shaving french frameback... I’ll take that!

Tonight's shave was with a French Frameback(Rattler). I had a so so 1/2 first pass. I hadn't used it in a long while. I did a few laps on the Chromium Oxide Strop, and a few on the leather. It now is a silky smooth shaver again, with the 2 passes. I was rewarded with a near BBS shave. Very noisy old razor. When it's dialed in, it's a fantastic razor. When it's off, a tad, its waaaay off.

Razor- French "Rasoir Fin". Faux Frameback(Rattler Grind).
    Brush- Stirling Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Osage Rub

    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Speick AS

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #240 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Lee Mfg. 5/8 and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Speick AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tonight's shave was with a consistently fantastic shaver. Excellent 2 pass shave, with the first pass leaving me with a DFS, With the second pass, I was left with a BBS shave. It was buttery smooth, even with the ATG pass. Top shelf razor. I wouldn't hesitate getting another, if the opportunity arises, and it was in good shape.

Razor- "Gong Razor", by ERN. Extra Hollow Ground.
    Brush- Stirling Boar.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Deep Woods. Coleman Lantern Decanter.

Tonight I shaved with my newly acquired Imperial Razor Co 6/8. It had broken scales and needed honed so I gave it my best shot.

What I've learned is I need a better bevel setter and I need a jewels loop. I got through the shave and it didn't tug but it's not as smooth as I'd like. I can't tell but it looks like there might be a tiny chip or two on the edge.

I also learned as awkward as it may be to shave with a straight for me a straight without scales to help balance is a lot harder! I'll be getting some scales to learn about replacing those soon.

As for the blade I got as much rust off as I could without major abrasives but I may resort to some as I'd really like to get it completely clean.[IMG]

If I was absolutely pressed on a favorite size/grind I would have to go with the “14”.

Personally I think you got that razor looking nice, with some cool “history” still attached. Nice work!

And a brave man to shave that razor without scales!
