I took out a razor that I haven’t used in months and gave it a whirl this morning. I used my Henry Sears and Sons. It ended up in the back of the cabinet for some reason that I cannot quite remember. I might have been separating my preferred straights from the less desirable.

Either way, I did a two pass shave with the Henry Sears and ended up with a great shave. It’s not a bad razor at all and I’m not putting it in the back of the cabinet again.

Tonight's shave was with a razor was with an old Sheffield razor. I had a 2 pass shave, that resulted in a near BBS shave. Zero issues, just smooothness.

Scott- very cool razor, and I was hoping it would help me do some research on this one:

Different shape but the stamping seems very close...

I had read that stamping the initials of the sovereign at the time originated in the 1820’s (Robert Doyle). I think yours is “WR” for King William IV so dating it from 1830-1837. I think mine is “VR” for Queen Victoria leading to post 1837 razor, and the V&R were normally separated by the Crown.
My question... does yours have other stamping(s) that lead you to believe it is a W&B? I have no other maker’s marks on mine and was hoping yours might give me a clue.

Let me research my past threads. I believe this one was a W&B. I have to take the Loupe to it. a couple I have, have the marks worn so much its hard to see.

Just found your post from Jan.
Does yours say Fine India Steel or Best Silver Steel like mine? Tough to make out yours but pretty confident in mine and yours looks close.

    Proraso Pre Shave
    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    JR#206 2-band Badger
    Luxor Pro Master
    Voskhod Teflon Coated
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Vegetal

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the JR #206 2-band Badger brush. I did two passes with the Luxor Pro Master Razor with a Voskhod Teflon Coated half-blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I used my Genco Vanadium this morning and got the best shave I had all week. It was a two pass shave and was close and smooth shave all around. This razor is well balanced and holds a great edge.
