Great. I like that is it fairly wide and I can pre-soak a whole container of shave soap in hot water while showering. The downside is that the walls are fairly thick and it does not hold a lot of water, so the scuttle takes a few refills of hot water to really heat up and is rather heavy. The size and grooves are perfect for whipping up a good lather. Ironically the Williams used today is one of the weakest soap when it comes to lathering.

    Gem 1911 Lather Catcher
    J.A. Henckels, C.V. Heljestrand wedges
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Vegetal

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the JR #206 2-band Badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1902 Lather Catcher Razor using J.A. Henckels and C.V. Heljestrand wedge blades and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I used all three blades for today's shave to see how they performed. The Henckels did well while the Heljestrand was a bit tuggy. I am holding on to the better of the Henckels for this week's shaves and sending the other two to @twhite. He thinks he can get the smile off their faces. I am very happy to have this Henckels in my collection.

After getting a bunch of Wen blades that were thrown in from the seller from other razors and cases, I decided to try one out. Not a particular great experience, but not terribly bad. It is a very audible blade with which you can feel it tug slightly on every stroke, but goes away some after two passes. I went with three full passes and it actually turned out Ok. with a near BBS shave. Will I use these blades in my rotation, I don't think so. But I will try this one out again in the same razor to see if it smooths out some, with a little palm stropping, sometime in the future.

Both shaves were three passes. Both very good bbs shaves. Both left me with a cool lavender scent. I've really have become addicted to the way TSD soaps lather. Its so rich and slick. I load the damp brush until the little soap strings appear to stick to the brush when lifted. Yogarty goodness is sure to follow. The iced yin yan is very refreshing scent, and can be followed by lavender or lime.
Hope y'all did as well, or better.
