Guys, I feel like my heart has been torn out. My Dad passed away this morning comfortably at the age of 95. His suffering is over but now ours is beginning. I won't be able to post here for several days because I'll be observing our custom of sitting Shiva. Until soon.

Keep your chins up and heads high as your father is now in a better place as he watches you from the clouds he will see your progress. Review his legacy and use it as your stepping stone. My deepest condolences, Jeff. Losing a parent is always hard, even when it is foreseen and expected and possibly even a blessing for a suffering individual - for the survivors it still hurts. My Dad died four years ago, and all I can do is assure you that the pain dulls over time although it may never entirely go away. I hope you don’t mind, but I am offering my prayers for strength and solace to you and your family, even if I do address them to a slightly different aspect of God than you might.
My sympathies for you and your family and will pray for you loss. Praise God for the time that you had with your father, may your grief be tempered with the good memories of him.
