I grew up in a town called Hitchcock not far from Houston. Went down several years ago and couldn't believe there was a dog track located at the exit. Crazy how things change but my old house looked the same. Even had the same two trees in the front. Not bad since we moved out in 1976.
that is pretty cool I use to rodeo (rode saddle broncs) and I would go to the Rodeo at Hitchcock every year -- it was usually raining and the arena looked like a hog pen. Yes that place has grown up alot -- Houston has to be one of the fastest growing areas.
Here it's like the recession never existed. I live in Huntsville but have to commute to Houston 6 days a week for work. I moved here from Illinois 3 months ago.
Yes Houston is doing well, where from in Illinois I did my post-doctoral fellowship at U of I at Champaign-Urbana.
I'm from Peoria. I actually hate Huntsville, mostly because it's so grueling to drive there after fighting Houston traffic to get home. Those people can't drive no matter what the weather is like.
I like the Texas drivers much better than the Louisiana drivers BUT in Houston you take your life into your own hands on the freeway
Yeah, the drive to Huntsville on I-45 is a pain and it will probably get worse with Exxon-Mobil building their 15,000 employee campus in the Woodlands.
Evening, ENJOY your obsession, you just don't know it's an obsession yet!! Welcome from the UK member..
Howdy and welcome, fellow East Texan! (Don't let that fool you, though, I've been shouting "Roll Tide" for 37+ years )
