I recently started using witch hazel regularly but enjoy it even more since I added menthol crystals and alum. Tonight I remembered another bottle of WH, half empty but also mentholated/alum'd. I topped off that bottle with the blue sports rub I found yesterday at WM. I braced myself, expecting the pale blue concoction to burn, but I got barely more than I was getting from the WH alone. Instead, what I did get was an instant face-freezing, eye-watering, sinus-clearing soothiness that was mucho pleasant after tonight's SE shave (shaved this morning but I was bored enough to shave again). The recipe if you're interested: 1/2 bottle of your favorite WH (generic is under a buck) 1/2 bottle of Cooling Sports Rub (blue or green, also under a buck) It'll be plenty cool right there but add menthol to taste. Also, cram a chunk of alum crystal into the bottle and leave it there. Just shake the bottle daily, it'll dissolve soon enough. This helps tighten you up even more when finished and you don't have to drag an alum rock around your mug. Feels great in immediate combo with the menthol and WH. Enjoy!
