Probably just like to make us suffer. It ain't the army unless we're all miserable and covered in poison ivy.

    Dove Men's Face Wash
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    Made Rite Boar Brush
    GEM MM Bullet Tip
    GEM Super Stainless
    CWR
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Pinaud Clubman AS

The VDH Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Made Rite boar brush. Two passes with the GEM MMBT and GEM Super Stainless blade left me with a close, comfortable shave. After the cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The Gillette Tech was manufactured from 1938 until 1979. A low cost model, it is a very common, long running series of razors. It is a three piece razor with a solid gaurd bar.

This razor is known as a 'Fat Handle Tech' and with the triangular slots in the base plate, it can be dated 1938-1941, and is plated in nickel.

It is a pretty mild shaver, almost to mild for my beard, but is said to be more aggressive than the later models.

    FRIDAY
    Thurs Eve Shave
Dawn Patrol in the Morn…so an evening shave was in order. I revisited the custom Rodgers again and, boy howdy, it's an adjustment getting used to this blade! I don't know if its the sheer weight or the exaggerated curve of the blade edge, but I feel as though I'm on the precipice of potential disaster when I shave with it. Me thinks I just need to use it on more consecutive days so I get the proper feel of it. Overall, a very close 3-pass shave with no blood-letting—but I had my 'curl-the-toes' moments. Could be I was just exhausted after a long day as well.

    Have a blessed Friday, all!

    Pe Re Ja Cologne

I might as well admit it - the Glacial Wintergreen soap and witch hazel are my two favourites now. The soap is so easy to lather, it smells so nice, and its menthol power is like sticking your face in a freezer. The matching witch hazel is easily as frigid, if not more. The Anherb conditioner is another face-freezer with great skincare and the Pe Re Ja cologne smells very lemony and refreshing. This shave was so enjoyable as well as BBS. ;) :D

Have a nice weekend, folks! :)

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

It's probably a good thing that I put a soap rotation in writing, or I'd be neglecting a majority of my stock in favor of this One-X; it's simply that good. Monstrous amounts of lather, great glide and cushion, and my skin always feels good after use. With 4 days worth of shaves on it, the Bic is starting to show signs of wear, as attested by the tiny persistent weeper over my upper lip. Aside from that, a wonderful DFS.

This shave was a little rougher than I've had lately. There were a couple weepers, but the general feeling of my skin is tender. Perhaps that is due to me getting used to my Rubberset brush - it is much more dense than my Plisson, and harder to splay than my HIS. This leads to me using more pressure to apply lather, maybe this is the scritch that many people enjoy. I'm not a big fan yet, but I'm not giving up.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
Soap: Farmington Soap Works Tea Tree
Brush: Rubberset 400 with TGN synthetic knot
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101

LASS today. Currently a “Top 5” with the Woody Lavender. Still with my FH Tech and a 7 O’Clock Green SS. Great 5th shave: smooth, close, nick free. I finished up with Z-14 (it will be a winter scent)
