Prep: Warm wash with Stirling Naked & Smooth bath bar
Lather: Nancy Boy - sample received from a friend
Brush: Vie-Long Lord Randal mixed hair
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Dorco ST301 (4)
    Post: Captain's Choice Lime

Received a sample of Nancy Boy shaving cream from a friend, so thought I would try it out while I figure out what to do with the Klar Kabinett I received from @PanChango
The NB soap was fine, I just thought it smelled a bit like dill pickles. Lathered up fine with a small amount and provided a nice base for 3 passes. Decent shave today. It appears I have about 2 more uses of the CC Lime aftershave and then I am done with that bottle.

A rose scented shave this morning. It's hotter than the hinges again this morning but the Rose scent makes the day a very nice one.

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot compress, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Cream: Godrej Lemon/Lime Fresh
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
    Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry

I shouldn't have skipped the facial cleanser step. While there are other variables that were potentially in play for today's shave (first return to the Godrej cream in a while, 3rd day with the Bolzano blade, technique has good days/bad days, etc.), the first pass today was considerably more tuggy than the past several days, and I tend to believe it's down to not having used a good cleanser in the prep. The Godrej isn't a bad product, to be sure, but I'm not entirely certain I'll be re-ordering it when it runs out, as the lather's not quite as rich as I get with other products. I did wind up with a generally DFS, but there's some irritation back along the jawbone.

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Star Pat. 1912, Dubl Duck Goldedge straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE blade (1)
Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair 23mm knot
Soap: TSD Lanolin - Iced Sub Zero
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva classic Ice Blue after shave
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

Another cool and comfortable 2 pass Darn Fine Shave. The TSD Lanolin in Iced Sub Zero never lets me down and leaves my face feeling great. The Aqua H2O cologne with it's sweet Citrus Flower scent is great for a warm summer day and will have me smelling great all day long.

    Have a Blessed Day!

I received a 1912 EverReady SE in the mail yesterday, so today I tried it out. Since I have never used an SE before other than my Rolls, and that only once, I noticed several things. Among them were that this is a very loud razor. Some razors are louder than others, and this is the loudest I have ever used. If you can't hear your whiskers being whacked with this, go to the ear doctor.

The angle used was a natural for me. I hadn't even finished the first stroke before I knew I had the angle correct. There was, for me, absolutely no learning curve to finding the proper angle.

This razor is very efficient. I did two passes on my face and neck then rinsed off. While not a BBS, this was a very close and consistent shave with no unshorn patches, skipping or irritation. This was not a BBS, but it was a very good shave.

Unfortunately, the shave on my neck was not very good. There are several posts you can find regarding SE razors, and most of them strongly advise against an ATG pass on the neck. But, being raised on Alfred E. Newman comics, I decided not to worry. It was a good thing I didn't worry because I now definitely have a BBS on my neck without irritation. I can see, though, why I had been warned. Any looseness in the skin WILL cause you to rethink the ATG pass.

For my first use of an SE, I am very pleased with this razor. I will use this again tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe I will get BBS all over.

    Mark

P.S. Thanks for the pif of the razor - it is deeply appreciated.
