Staying with friends a bit south of me for one more night. Just came back to theirs and we polished off a couple of bottles of red wine
Hahaha I know how to drink it. It was chilled because of an experiment. My woman wanted to try whiskey sour witt my bourbon. And that drink should be cold. The bourbon was actually nice cold the first glas. But after that the temp of the bourbon went down to normal temp. I usually drink it neat, no rocks =) "hardcore" =P I have to admit, I got a liiiiittle bit drunk.
More California Wine Snobbery: A nice little Pinot Noir from Robert Mondavi. We toured the Napa Valley winery again in March and came away with several bottles. Tasty stuff for a light-weight red. Not overly complex nor heavy, but rich & berry-like. My wife truly enjoys this vintage.
Well...we also have all the Boontville beers that have won more medals than I can remember Next time you go up to the wine country I recommend swinging by there. It's in Anderson valley and there is also a really great place for food at the Boontville hotel. It's a small 6-700 people town that during WWII developed their own language 'boontling' to prevent German spies from hearing what they were talking about. Some of the older people there still 'harp boont' (speak Boontling). The beer...is amazing
Parabola Imperial Stout. Aged in bourbon barrels and one of the most interesting, complex beers I have ever tasted. Amazing...and 14% ABV
