I recently found this article on the use of witch hazel. It may be of interest to some of you. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/TIP05285/Wondering-How-to-Use-Witch-Hazel.html
I love witch hazel. I have a bottle of Dickinson that I use frequently. It's been used for centuries too.
I wonder why it's not more popular in Sweden. This one 8 really cat find here. Nearest source is amazon.co.uk thayers for 10£ plus shipping
I use WH as part of my daily aftershave regimen. Pharmacies generally have their own generic WH that you can find in the first aid section (usually next to the hydrogen peroxide). I can purchase 500ml for $3.99 CDN and it lasts forever. I have been using the same bottle for 5 months and it's still over half full.
As a Norwegian I have the same experience. Impossible to find locally and a google search using the norwegian word for it give me nothing to work with. I have used ebay UK for my needs and purchased both the Thayer and generic versions. I prefer the latter as it is much cheaper, a little "smellier", and just as efficient. Or so I believe
I do not remember specific. It has been a while. But I think I got it was something like this: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/280804020290?nav=SEARCH
I use generic WH from Walmart [$1.39 for a 16oz bottle] and I mix it 50/50 with pure Aloe. It's my one and only after shave.
I have a bottle of WH, but I rarely use it. It is one of the ingredients (besides vodka, rum, etc) in the bay rum I made a while ago—and I do use that frequently.
I got my bottle Dickinson's Witch Hazel 16oz. several months ago at Ralph's Grocery Store aka Kroger's it cost $3.99 I think. It had a coupon on it for a full refund and also with the rebate check a coupon for a free bottle.
I like the Thayers WITH alcohol in it (astringent). And I also use the Walmart generic because it was only .88 lol
I use it daily mixed with Osage Rub and a dash (or two) of sage essential oil. Feels great and does wonders for my skin.
