Just wanted to check in and say hi. I've been wet shaving for a couple months now, bouncing back and forth between a Gillette Red Tip (my grandfathers) and a GEM Jr. "The Parade" (antique shop find)... I couldn't be happier with my beard, or lack there of. So much better than any of the commercial blades corporate America wants us to use today. Bye bye canned shaving cream.. never going back.
Hi Ben, and welcome to TSD! Glad you found us and joined. Nice set of razors you've got! Any particular soap or cream you're fond of? Happy Shavings!
to TSD "bentyler" Nice razor collection you have started there. Do you have a large sample blade pack? If not you should consider getting one. The more different blades you can try, especially in the beginning, the better for discovering which blade/blades work "BEST" with your face and technique. I'm glad to see you also understand how it's not just the razor but the soft products(soaps, creams, pre shaves) as well which contribute greatly to a fantastic shave!.
Welcome! We are proud to have another shaver that is awake and aware the commercial cartridge world has a better alternative!
Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
Welcome bentyler!! We're glad to have to aboard! What soap or crème is working best for now? Have a blade of choice for the Red Tip?
Welcome to the Shave Den. Good to have you with us. Good to give a shout-out to the Red Tip. A nice little razor.
