Captains Choice Sandalwood

How's this compare to other sandalwoods?

 

That's what I want to know. I was hoping someone had tried it out and could post a review.

 

Is it just Sandalwood added to their Bay Rum base, like their Lime? Or a totally new formulation from scratch?

 

From the descriptions and reviews I've read it is not a bay rum. It is described on the website as a one note sandalwood without all the sweet, floral add ins found in most sandalwood scents. One reviewer said he imagined if you took a piece of sandalwood and shaved off a couple of slivers it would smell like that

 

Then I might give it a try. Captains was my first Bay Rum and I liked it. So much so, I even got some Gilbert Henry Bay Rum Balm. But, after using both for a while, I don't care for either, too much, anymore. Maybe it's the clove in it, IDK. However, I got a bunch of Ogallala soap samples and all seem to have their Bay Rum as a base, which, I find the scent much nicer than your typical Bay Rum.

 

If you decide to try it let us know your impressions.
